Helpme

[edit]

{{helpme}} I just posted a question on the discussion page for Ashley Todd's mugging hoax. Quoting:

At this point, I am unsure if it is permissible to have material of a more speculative nature here on the discussion page, until proper sources and facts are established. Any advice?

I think it is necessary to see the question in relation to the questions I raise on that talk page.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Cacadril (talkcontribs)

Basically, as long as the material conforms to basic Wikipedia behavioral policies (no personal attacks, etc.), and it wouldn't be considered a Biography of Living Persons policy violation, then it's ok for the talk page. As a caution, I would note that a lot of the other questions you raised on the talk page are about questions which there just haven't been publicly released (or even leaked) answers to. So, especially given the reported mental health issues of the subject, it would be best to tread carefully in the speculation department, even on the talk page. There's really no reason to speculate much. It's ok to ask questions, as you did, but be wary of crossing the fuzzy undefined boundary between speculatory questions and speculatory making-stuff-up. (I'm not saying you'll do that, I'm just saying it's been done before.) Happy editing!--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 14:02, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Change infobox data

[edit]

{{helpme}} I just changed the numbers for critical pressure and critical temperature in nitrogen gas, on the Nitrogen page, but the page did not change!

If I click the "This box: ... edit" link at the bottom of the box, the new numbers show in the source, but the box itself contain the old, wrong numbers. Cacadril (talk) 05:20, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit isn't in the page's history, that link will allow you to edit the infobox. Are you sure you provided an edit summary, and saved the edit? NeuroLogic 05:26, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, Cacadril changed the infobox template but it is likely still in the cache. Try purging http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Nitrogen&action=purge DoubleBlue (talk) 05:27, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Was my next suggestion, if I saw him in the page history, Thanks DoubleBlue! Did that work Cacadril? NeuroLogic 05:29, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thanks, yes, now it the edit shows through. Cacadril (talk) 05:56, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
