Welcome!
[edit]Welcome!
Hello, CTGonYT, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that you are fairly new! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I also see that some of your recent edits show an interest in the use of images and/or photos on Wikipedia.
Did you know that ...
- ...Wikipedia has a very stringent image use policy?
- ...most images from Flickr, online news websites, and other web sources are copyrighted?
- ...Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously?
- ...freely-licensed images should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, a central location for images where they can be used on all Wikipedia projects?
- ...we recommend that new users use our "files for upload" process – at least until you get the hang of things?
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{Help me}}
on your talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

[edit]I was just trying to provide the correct Russian Imperal coat of arms including the 1856-1883 one that I posted and I would like to bring back some of the coat of arms suggestions like the 1710-1730 version and the 1856-1883 version. CTGonYT (talk) 01:46, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
- My concern is about the accuracy of the images, if you've drawn them yourself. How do we know they're faithful to the original design? —C.Fred (talk) 03:20, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
- Well ive looked up the coat of arms designs and it looks to be the design that I posted and I was trying to correct the coat of arms since alot of the versions that were posted came out inaccurate and I would recommend watching this video to see the correct coat of arms and timelines https://youtube.com/JWhJTwi_GSQ?si=RFDLWA4XGAu-mvNS CTGonYT (talk) 03:29, 15 April 2024 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Russia coat of arms collection. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Coat of arms of Russia. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Coat of arms of Russia. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Johnj1995 (talk) 04:01, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Heraldry of Russia page, to Wikipedia, as doing so is not in accordance with our policies. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Wikipedia:Your first article; you might also consider using the Article Wizard. - could you all stop being sensitive im just trying to give out correct coat of arms but I keep on getting warned because of it CTGonYT (talk) 19:00, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi CTGonYT, we're not being sensitive. Wikipedia articles should not just be indiscriminate galleries of photographs. Additionally, as @C.Fred noted above, it appears that the images you're adding aren't backed up by reliable sources. voorts (talk/contributions) 19:02, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- well ill change some of it I guess and add some more information about it and also all the ones I provided are all (REAL) CTGonYT (talk) 19:04, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- If you can find sources, that's fine, but you should work on this in the draftspace, rather than in WP:mainspace. This is clearly not ready to be an article. voorts (talk/contributions) 19:06, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- well just let me update the coat of arms of russia page then simple right? CTGonYT (talk) 19:09, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Nobody is stopping you from doing that, but if the only source you have is images you yourself uploaded to Commons, then I think your edits will be reverted for lack of reliable sources. voorts (talk/contributions) 19:11, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- ill try uploading all of them to commons and then see if I could update the original russia coat of arms wiki page CTGonYT (talk) 19:13, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- im in the processes of uploading them on my account and hopefully i will be able to use them to fix the coat of arms of russia wiki CTGonYT (talk) 19:21, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- What are you uploading? From where? voorts (talk/contributions) 19:23, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- I do have them saved on my deivanart art account so ill be getting the files from there CTGonYT (talk) 19:24, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Where did you get the images originally? Also, there are already images on Wikimedia Commons that are in the Coat of arms of Russia article. What about them is incorrect? Do you have reliable sources to back up your claim that they are incorrect? voorts (talk/contributions) 19:27, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Alexander I of Russia never had the last russian imperial coat of arms and ive done all of my research through YouTube and the internet and all of the coat of arms ive put forward are all correct. CTGonYT (talk) 19:30, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
ive done all of my research through YouTube and the internet
Where on the internet? Also, as I said before, YouTube is not a reliable source because anybody can upload a video and there is no fact checking on YouTube. If you start changing the images in the article, and do not provide proper citations, it is likely that other editors will revert your edits and you might end up being blocked from editing. voorts (talk/contributions) 19:39, 12 May 2024 (UTC)- some site that is now sadly gone but im telling you that I am telling you the truth the information I provided is all correct CTGonYT (talk) 19:42, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
im telling you that I am telling you the truth the information I provided is all correct
That's not how Wikipedia works. Every piece of information added to Wikipedia needs to be verifiable. That means you should include an inline citation to a reliable source. If you start changing images around based on what you believe is the truth based on unspecified sources from the internet that no longer exist, it is not just likely that you will be blocked, but almost certain. Before you start changing things, I recommend starting a discussion at Talk:Coat of arms of Russia so that other editors can evaluate what information is correct. voorts (talk/contributions) 19:47, 12 May 2024 (UTC)- alright then I will try my best CTGonYT (talk) 19:49, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- for now I will try to delete the webpage I cerated so I can give out the correct information CTGonYT (talk) 19:53, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Please stop moving the page. It will be deleted soon. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:00, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

Heraldry of Russia page (Archived) moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Heraldry of Russia page. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Liz Read! Talk! 20:00, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- @CTGonYT, please do not move the page back into the mainspace. As we discussed above, I think the best way to move forward is to start a discussion at Talk:Coat of arms of Russia so that you can see if other editors agree with your plan. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:02, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
