CPTDisgruntled (talk) 16:20, 20 April 2018 (UTC)== Trump Parc == Hey, I saw your changes to https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Trump_Parc&type=revision&diff=837394587&oldid=837393050 but you might have changed the context a bit too much - but as I'm not a native speaker I'll leave the final judgment to you.[reply]

Initially the text said:

The Barbizon Plaza Hotel was the major asset; 100 Central Park South was a rent controlled building that Trump said "they practically gave it to me".

To me it sounds as if Trump refers to 100 Central Park South (even though the alleged $13 million were a bargain as well). After your edit Trump's quote refers to both properties equally:

Trump purchased the Barbizon Plaza Hotel and 100 Central Park South from Banque Lambert in 1981, claiming "they practically gave it to me" for just $13 million.

Also the user from IP 72.193.64.147 wanted to put the truth first (assuming the casino commission report is true) and Trump's lie second. I think that is a good idea. Maybe you could help rewording the paragraph?

Hey, Felix--hope you can read this. I'm not a frequent Wiki editor, and I don't know where else to put it. I'm a little confused by your first comment about the $13 mil purchase price. The WaPo article clearly indicates that the $13m was for both buildings: "Trump informed me that he had bought the Barbizon Plaza Hotel and the adjoining 110 Central Park West for just $13 million, a steal." Your edit made me think that you felt the rent control aspect was the steal? While I take your point about placing the factual information first, I think the fact that Trump lied about the price is an important issue; placing the lie first and then contradicting it with the truth gives added emphasis to the factual information. As well, this Wikipedia article originally gave the price as $13 mil, so the sentence structure reflects the chronological order of the information.

{{U|Drmies}} Like that?? I appreciate the gesture--hope it worked! Thanks for taking the time... CPTDisgruntled (talk) 17:12, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
