Hello, CO MEIJER. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, John Fraser (tennis), for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want John Fraser (tennis) to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks, Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 10:09, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ian Ayre (tennis) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. WWGB (talk) 11:33, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ian Ayre (tennis) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. WWGB (talk) 11:33, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Andrew Lloyd (tennis) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references.

Hi, CO MEIJER, I saw that no one had welcomed you and given you links to our policies and places where you can ask for help. Please note above our policy on Biographies of living persons: they must have at least one source or they will be deleted after one week. Also, please only create articles here on en.wikipedia in the English language. I see that you have also registered an account on the Dutch-language Wikipedia: that is the correct place to create articles written in Dutch. I have translated your three tennis-player articles (I undeleted Ian Ayre (tennis), which had been deleted because someone tagged it as not having any statement of why he was notable; this is a risk with articles in foreign languages, because almost no one here will be able to read them.) Also, please take a look at what the three articles look like now; notice how I have added links to other Wikipedia articles by inserting [[]]. Thank you for creating the three articles, but please from now on write them in English if you create them here, add at least one source, and if possible add some wiki-links. You'll find more specifics at the pages linked in the box above. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:59, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you have posted comments in a language other than English. When on the English-language Wikipedia, please always use English, no matter to whom you address your comments. This is so that comments may be comprehensible to the community at large. If the use of another language is unavoidable, please provide a translation of the comments. For more details, see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thank you. Shadowjams (talk) 21:49, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have already been asked to stop creating articles in Dutch, but you have created four more this evening. Please either write in English or work on the Dutch Wikipedia. It is disruptive of the encyclopedia to continue adding material which is not written in English. If you continue, I will report it at the Administrators' Noticeboard. Thank you. PamD 22:07, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, please, this is a problem. You also have an account on nl.wikipedia. Please either make your new articles there, or translate them into English before you create them here on en.wikipedia. You are also still not providing sources; articles on en.wikipedia need to have sources, and articles on living people get deleted if these are not added within a week. Please add the name of the book, periodical, or website that you used for the information. Yngvadottir (talk) 04:39, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I encourage you to help improve the article, but can you please provide sources for your edits? The information is useful, but without a source it can't be included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ryan Vesey (talkcontribs)

A tag has been placed on Jan Van Der Heide requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Jan Van Der Heide

[edit]

Hi. If you'd like to expand the article further, here are some sources [1] [2]. Happy editing! TBrandley 16:46, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the above sources and another, and moved it to Jan van der Heide. CO MEIJER, thank you so much for writing it in English this time! Now can we please have a source, the one you are using? English Wikipedia requires at least one source, particularly if the article is about a person who may still be alive. And you undoubtedly have access to better sources on tennis than I do. It can be a printed book, it doesn't have to be online; but give the page number in that case. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:18, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Heed your warnings

[edit]

You have received multiple warnings for creating one line articles about questionably notable tennis players without citing any sources. At the very least, an article should cite a source for another editor to verify what you have written. Please stop creating articles without citing any sources. English. Really.

[edit]

This is the English Wikipedia. All articles are to be written in English. Please stop contributing articles written in Dutch. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:49, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, please! It was much better when you started to make the new articles in English. Note: I have translated Hubert Wilton and added 2 references. I have redirected A.C. Van Swol to the article that already existed on him, Hans van Swol; note that that has an interwiki link to nl:Hans van Swol. It's a good idea to search for existing articles on your native-language Wikipedia and then see if there is an interwiki link to an article on en.wikipedia, which may not be at the title you expected. Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. I meant what I said, above, last week. PamD 21:02, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I'm sure you know there is a Dutch wikipedia (http://nl.wikipedia.org)? If you want to write in Dutch, that is the place to do it! Of course everyone is welcome to contribute to English wikipedia (in English) if they want to, but the other languages need editors too, and they have a relative shortage of editors and articles compared to the English one. So you'll certainly be helping the project by writing in the Dutch wikipedia. The overall Wikipedia project wants to eventually achieve good encyclopedic coverage in ALL languages. 67.119.3.105 (talk) 21:40, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for continuing to create articles on living people with no references, in violation of our policy, and creating them in Dutch despite being asked not to. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
