Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, CMPkk1304. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Benjamin Galluzzo, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ... discospinster talk 19:32, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your messages. As a first time Wikipedia editor, I wasn't aware of these strict guidelines and rules and I'm sorry that my edits are not allowed. I was just trying to add the new job title and a bit from his bio to my new boss's page. I will follow the instructions you sent. CMPkk1304 (talk) 22:13, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's allowed but there are stricter limitations. The article should definitely not be promotional in tone, and information should be cited to third-party sources, not just the individual's own website(s). ... discospinster talk 23:26, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
