License tagging for Image:Being attacked2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Being attacked2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:06, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading Image:왜성복원도.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 23:03, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Suncheon_mascot.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Suncheon_mascot.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:32, 1 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih (talk) 16:32, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Being attacked.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Being attacked.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:34, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your images

[edit]

I reverted your edit on Seoul because your photos are somewhat dubious for its copyright. You claim those are yours, but they don't have any EXIF and date info. Of course, you would delete them with external program, but they seem like taken from a helicopter or at top of the tall building. I want to assume good faith on your contributions, but image bot messages on your talk page worry me. If they're truly yours, could you provide EXIF info or some of the original images? Thanks.-Caspian blue 04:56, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edits

[edit]

Hi Byeonggwan. I have a couple of questions about your edits:

  • Could you be clearer about the status of the image "Hanbokk.jpg"? Did you take the 4 constituent pictures yourself? If you simply found 4 individual photographs, for example on web pages, you cannot simply join them together and claim the image as your own. If you have uploaded any similar images which you later realize are not able to be released as "free", please bring them to my attention - as an administrator, I can delete them and help protect Wikipedia from copyright violation problems. Please do not upload any more images until this issue has been addressed.
  • With regard to recent image-related edits to Seoul, when replacing existing pictures, please give a clear rationale as to why the image you are replacing another with is "better" than the previous image. I've reverted your recent edits to Seoul pending a response to this issue.
  • I notice you are interested in the Suncheon, Jeonnam page. Before making any further edits, would you be able to fix the formatting of the page (eg remove bolding from the "local attractions" items) and add context about, or ideally create articles for, the redlinked items? Thanks, Deiz talk 09:56, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Addendum: it appears the image copyright problem is actually quite serious. I've taken the step of blocking your account for 3 hours to prevent any further copyright violations. Please respond about the issue on this page at your earliest convenience. Thanks, Deiz talk 10:02, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Who are you....? Can you stop being so annoying and just let me do what I do here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Byeonggwan (talkcontribs)

[edit]

Given your refusal / inability to answer these serious concerns before resuming editing, your incivility, and your blatant copying of my userpage - you are free to use the code and formatting, but not misrepresent yourself as another user - you have been blocked for a further 12 hours to give you some time to understand why your edits are problematic. Please try to learn more about Wikipedia before contributing further - if you would like to communicate with an experienced editor in Korean, Caspian blue (talk · contribs) will be happy to help. Regarding your recent comments, if what you intend do here is break copyright laws, misrepresent yourself as another user and generally fail to listen to advice or warnings, perhaps editing Wikipedia is not for you. 한국어 안내 및 이미지 규약

[edit]

Hello, Byeonggwan, and welcome to Wikipedia! While efforts to improve Wikipedia are always welcome, unfortunately your contributions are not written in English that is good enough to be useful. You appear to be more familiar with Korean; did you know there is a Korean Wikipedia? You may prefer to contribute there instead. In any case, welcome to the project, and thank you for your efforts! -- Caspian blue 11:30, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

-- Caspian blue 11:30, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your erroneous images

[edit]

Please see Image talk:Hangeul learning made by myself.jpg and Image talk:Hangeul Korean900115.jpg. Those are the reasons why I removed your image from the Hangul article. -- (talk) 21:18, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You've uploaded a lot of images that violate Wikipedia's copyright policy before and they all got deleted; now you are uploading erroneous images? -- (talk) 21:56, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Answer: You have to tell me what is erroneous in my image and what is this image is different from the images before I uploaded for the Wiki's copyright policy since you can see I made it myself. I created the image and just changed the former one because I found errors there. All of my friends loved my image cause it's very simple and easier than other stuffs. And, if you tell me what is erroneous , give me chance to fix it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Byeonggwan (talkcontribs)

Did you even check the links that I gave you above? FYI you can fix your images anytime as long as you want to. -- (talk) 09:58, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Some of your images are now under discussion here. —Politizer talk/contribs 06:12, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that the images are being "attacked" has nothing to do with who created them; it's not a copyright issue. The problem is that you provide no explanation for what the images are trying to illustrate, and more seriously, no source for the information in the image, which means that it qualifies as original research. If you believe your images are ok, then please state your reasons at the talk page link I posted above; do not revert in the article itself, as it will be considered an edit war, which is an offense that you can get blocked for. —Politizer talk/contribs 06:16, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Signing

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as in Talk:Hangul, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. —Politizer talk/contribs 06:54, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

Hi Byeonggwan. I'm disappointed to see you are having issues with images again. It may benefit the project and yourself as an editor if you refrain from making, editing or uploading images in the future without first proposing such uploads to editors interested in the relevant subject areas. Your response to the recent issue (above) does not seem to accept or acknowledge the concerns of other editors that the images are effectively useless. That you believe your friends "loved my image cause it's very simple and easier than other stuffs" does not mean anything.

I do appreciate the work you are trying to do on WP, especially as English is not your first language, but by now you should be aware that you have to respect consensus and allow more experienced editors to help you. Please don't let your editing become disruptive again. Thanks, Deiz talk 13:35, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Racism in Europe

[edit]

Regarding this edit: I find it ironic that, while attempting to criticize Spaniards for being racist against Asians, you used equally racist anti-Spanish language (making unfair generalizations about them and saying things such as "they all tend to...."), and linked to a source that directly criticizes China's response for being racist. Please try to keep all of your edits neutral from now on. —Politizer talk/contribs 00:54, 4 December 2008 (UTC) [reply]

[1]According to this source, there are 65 countires as high-income ones. And, Taiwan isn't mentioned. Byeonggwan 06:35, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the definition:
'"high-income economies" which are not eligible for any lending programs
That cuts the list down to 60 countries (see this Excel file). And Taiwan is mentioned here at the end of the page. That makes it 61 countries. ☆ CieloEstrellado 06:55, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To be perfectly clear: The are five countries classified as high-income, but they are still considered to be poor enough to receive foreign financial aid. This is why they are taken out of the list of developed countries. ☆ CieloEstrellado 07:16, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Byeonggwan. In this series of edits, it seems that you have been copying material from History of Korea into South Korea#History. Those are split into separate articles, however, for a reason. First of all, the History of Korea article describes the history of Korean culture in general, whereas the South Korea article should focus mainly on the South Korean nation/political entity. More importantly, the article would simply be too long if we included all of Korean history, which is why the article just has a brief summary of the history, with the {{main}} templates linking to History of Korea and History of South Korea for readers who want a more in-depth history. If you intend to merge those history articles into this, please discuss it at Talk:South Korea before making any drastic edits. Thank you, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 04:52, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I think it is somewhat strange to divide South Korean history into 2 pieces cause of the matter of space, and what I don't understand is that the part before division of South Korean history is longer than the after division(since 1945) as you know, but it is too short obviously. Anyway, I left the part of After division because it can be South Korean history.

Why do you not answer and just undo it on South Korea page? South Korea is considered as a one country in international world, but just Korea is not considered for now. They can check Korean history but South Korea is South Korea which is more important. And, I said I changed before division part mainly. I don't think it is necesary to point them out dividing its history into before and after division.

>talk/contribs 04:52, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regardless, you need to discuss this sort of major change at Talk before adding huge sections to the article, especially if your additions are not new content but just copying-and-pasting text that already exists elsewhere on Wikipedia. I've said all I have to say on the matter, so if you want a different opinion you should leave questions at the article talk page. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 05:54, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you think it is an easy thing to copy and paste? And, Infos from wiki are available everywhere. I cannot invent some history and at least they are from wiki. Well, I just let it be like that cause it is the liminatation of wikipedia. Enjoy being "Somebody" at least on wikipedia undoing things by one click. Bye~! Divide SOUTH KOREA's history like that, OK? I will divide USA history into Before 2008 crisis and After crisis in 60 years. Bye!!

Edit summaries

[edit]

When you remove images or make other major image changes, as you are doing on South Korea, make sure you give an edit summary each time you do so, to explain why you are removing the image. If you don't give an edit summary people will think you're a vandal and you risk having your edits reverted. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 03:23, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Suncheon.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
