Put talks here!

I think I am doing this correctly. Also, the assignment says we have to post a link? So, here's my talk page link. [[1]] Have a Happy Halloween! Tullye (talk) 02:45, 30 October 2014 (UTC)tullye[reply]
Not sure if I'm doing this right?? But I'm totally pumped to be painting Wikipedia rainbow. JG_StoCoNJ (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 12:16, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Cecile Flapjack (talk) 16:51, 2 November 2014 (UTC) Hey! Not sure if you've noticed, but after going into Preferences (at top of page) and under the Appearance tab you can change the time to be actually this time zone, otherwise I think it is 5 hours ahead. Just letting you know as well as anyone else who reads your talk page who hasn't figured that out already![reply]

Peer review

[edit]

Cecile Flapjack (talk) 15:21, 8 November 2014 (UTC) Hey there stranger! I'm gonna peer review you! The history of the page you edited is not as straight forward as the last person's I edited. For this reason it is incredibly difficult to discern what specifically you added or removed. However! Seeing as how I was present when you were editing this page, it is not too hard for me to figure it out! I liked that you removed the "alone" used to emphasis that statistic about gay men and abuse, and your summary description that went with, that it "seemed inappropriate on a page where any of the violent statistics are harrowing." This is very true, and I'm surprised it went overlooked/ignored before you came in to edit this page. I am also very glad that you switched the sentence order for the studies on same-sex partner violence. That chunk of info you added from the CDC was much needed! The way you worded things was factual, on point and objective from my perspective at least; no telling what the bots will say. The only suggestion I can give is perhaps if you decide to further edit this page, you should add whatever information you can find on trans* individuals and domestic violence. Seriously, I am loving your edits! Keep doing you! :)[reply]

Hello! I was also picked to peer review you! One of the main things that I want to start off with is the large topic that you chose to review. Although this does fit into the category of which we needed to edit a page on, my suggestion would be to pick a smaller stub. This is something that is not as large and is a page that needs more expanding due to the lack of information on the subject. This would make it easier to review and creates a more successful way to learn how to properly edit and see what the Wiki community likes and dislikes. However with all of that being said, I think the information that you edited/ added was great! I really thought it was a great idea to put the statistics in order. This makes it easier to understand and follow the information in the sequence that it happened. The same sex statistics were a good addition. This is concrete information that should not be controversial in my opinion. I really had a hard time finding something wrong with the information that you posted because it was such a large established topic. However, your information seemed to be concrete which is important with Wikipedia! My biggest bit of advice for this would be to start smaller stubs (topics that need to be expanded). This can help you decide which information is necessary and what is not. This also gives the wiki community a chance to see whether your information is valid and what needs work. Good job! --MasonnTaylorr2219 (talk) 17:52, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

citation needed for "corrective rape in New York City" statement

[edit]

I believe you wrote in Homelessness_among_LGBT_youth_in_the_United_States :

The Hetrick-Martin Institute showed that among homeless queer girls aged 13–15 in New York City, that 50% of them were homeless because they were fleeing familial corrective rape.

The reference for it could not be found. Can you add a current reference?

The reference given,

Kristofferson, Cathy (1 January 2013). "The ongoing plight of homeless queer youth". http://oblogdeeoblogda.me/2013/01/01/the-ongoing-plight-of-homeless-queer-youth/

has that statement but does not have a link or formal reference. A Google search of search for "Hetrick-Martin Institute corrective rape" found nothing. Hetrick-Martin Institute exists and has a site http://hmi.org but I could not find any such article on it.
