Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited John William North, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nettlecombe (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Why are you conjoining post-nominals with names?

[edit]

I find what you are doing a nuisance. If someone is an ARA, for example, I would like to be able to find out what that means in one click, not two or more as a result of your edit. There can't be a good practical reason for what you are doing.Emerald (talk) 09:30, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad someone else cares about him! I wouldn't have been able to get the story without access to the British Newspaper Archive, since I didn't see another way to identify him as the son of Jerom Murch. One up for the Wikipedia Library. Charles Matthews (talk) 09:02, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Ways to improve The Portfolio

[edit]

Hi, I'm SkyGazer 512. Burne-Jones, thanks for creating The Portfolio!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Thank you for creating this article! More sources and preferably some more content would be nice here.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 15:05, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Robert Alan Mowbray Stevenson, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Saturday Review (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Henry Blackburn moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Henry Blackburn, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. — Newslinger talk 16:51, 25 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Henry Blackburn

[edit]

Hello, Burne-Jones. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Henry Blackburn".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Lapablo (talk) 14:35, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Date ranges

[edit]

Hi, thanks for correcting the hyphen in the Harris Manchester College buildings section: I had not heard of en dash when I added that paragraph. However are you aware that the MOS prefers whole years in date ranges (see Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Dates_and_numbers#Ranges)? I think your edit to Thomas Worthington (architect) was inconsistent with the guidance. TSventon (talk) 13:39, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
