Emmerdale template
[edit]Last question: Why can't you Btitish people use The American Way of writing the dates? And FYI it's not only in America they write like that, we do write like that here in Sweden too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wingard (talk • contribs)
Windows Vista unofficial requirements
[edit]Microsoft's official hardware requirements are a laugh matter. This is why I included 2 professional opinions about recommended specs, which actually go in line with general public opinion on the matter. Anybody who tested this OS, even on a modern PC like mine, would agree. Now, is it possible to include an unofficial recommendation without it being somebody's opinion? I think not. Hey Bungle, do you know if it's true that this character is set to return to Emmerdale this year? It says so in the article, but it's unsourced and I couldnt find a source online. I wanted to check it's not a lie.Gungadin 18:39, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hey - why the vandalism threat? looks like we tried to undo the same edit at the same time and WP got confused. Don't jump to such rash conclusions.
I have no problem with your edit, but accusing vandalism, when if you look at the page history all that happened is we tried to undo the same edit at the same time is a bit OTT. Never assume.

[edit]No worries about the changes! Just trying to get a quality article... with many of the teens who edit it, they let their enthusiasm over-run whatever good writing we have in there! So thanks for being vigilant with links and such! Kaihoku (talk) 07:29, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

School leaving age
[edit]Thanks for your message. I'm sorry if you think my edits weren't helpful. My main concern was that an article on History of Education England was a major gap. I built it up with material from the Raising of the School Leaving age article and others. Obviously this is just the start of a major enterprise in getting the article to a good standard. I'm sure you'll agree that it is good to have a proper series of articles so that the RoSLA article can be a subarticle of Hist of Ed or something else appropriate. Laziness does not really come into it, as I don't and can't claim any ownership over any of the articles in the series. The only concern is the quality of the encyclopedia. I'll be interested to read your further comments, and although I don't know how much time I can devote to editing in the coming month, I'll try to devote some effort to restoring the balance so that Hist of Ed is a general overview and RoSLA carries the detail on that particular subject. Ryan Connor page
[edit]Hello, I was wondering if you could help me? I think that the Coronation Street character Ryan Connor should have his own article but I don't know how to create one and keep all the information from the one of the minor characters page? Please could you either do it or tell me how. ThanksAlex250P (talk) 02:46, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Dear WikiProject Video games member,
You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in the recent months.
The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.
All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:
- Editing video game-related pages in the Article namespace
- Participating in video game-related discussions in the Project namespace (WT:VG, WP:AfD, WP:GAN, etc.)
Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

License tagging for File:B&m logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:B&m logo.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:05, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:A5758 road alignment.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:A5758 road alignment.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 07:48, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:B&m logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:B&m logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:37, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
