- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:

A tag has been placed on User:Bungeeloyaltyprograms/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
- What can I do now?
You are still welcome to write about something other than your company, organization, or clients. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text

[edit]We had an overzealous intern that created the post on Wikipedia. I sincerely apologize for the violation of policy. Do we need to change our username? If so, we are happy to change it to any of the following: Dave G, Dave Gee or DRG.

Dave, because your program would have a conflict of interest with what you are writing about, I would recommend not adding the content here. See WP:COI and WP:NOTABILITY. I unfortunately don't believe the article would be notable enough to remain here. Calabe1992 19:12, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Got it. I have only read Wikipedia and not posted content. I understand why the content was deleted. So will the username "Bungeeloyaltyprograms" be eliminated? Should we create a new username? How is that done? Again I apologize

- This username will remain blocked. However, you can either WP:Changing username or create a new account. Also, you can look at Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance if you want changes made to something that you have a conflict of interest with. Calabe1992 19:27, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
