Israel News Agency Reaches Over 60 Million

[edit]

Please reconsider your vote for deletion of article re: Michele Shohatovitz. This health care professional is well known and respected in Israel. If she does work for the Israel News Agency, then she is an author who has a reach of well over 5,000 people (according to Alexa the INA reaches up to 60 million readers) which qualifies her as a notable. Thank you Idf-barak 14:25, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Bucketsofg/Archive 3,

Thanks for voting on my RFA! I appreciate your faith in me, and was overwhelmed by the positive response to my RFA; for it shows that at least I'm doing something right. :) I've started working to improve myself already, and I hope that next time, things run better, and maybe, just maybe, one day we can bask on the shores of Admintopia together. Thanks and cheers, _-M o P-_ 21:48, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Bucketsofg/Archive 3, and thanks for supporting me on my recent request for adminship! It has succeeded with an unanimous support of 67 votes, so that I am now an administrator. Please feel free to leave a note on my talk page should you wish to leave any comments or ask for any help. Again, thanks a lot, AndyZ t 21:54, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Bucketsofg/Archive 3, and thank you for vote on my recent RfA! With a final vote of 62/2/4, I have now been entrusted with the mop, bucket and keys. As I acclimate myself to my new tools, feel free to let me know how you believe I might be able to use them to help the project. Thanks again! RadioKirk talk to me 05:31, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know you know what you're doing, so this isn't meant to be critical or instructional, just funny. Thought you might get a laugh (albeit at your own expense) out of seeing the version you reverted to here. I've made the same mistake of not reverting far enough, too, so it made me chuckle. Anyway, thanks for your good vandalism patrolling and happy editing! Kafziel 17:05, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LOL. Yes, I saw that at the time, but by the time I got to it someone had reverted it already. When two IP addresses vandalize together like that (they were identical except for the last digits: probably two friends sitting next to one another in the school library), they can really muck up the reversion tools. Best! Bucketsofg 17:15, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for voting in my RfA!

[edit]

I *really* appreciate your caution, and wanted to thank you for the vote in my RfA. It did not gain consensus, but I'm glad I accepted the nom! - Amgine 17:13, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stock Sr.

[edit]

I reverted the edit because not all of SD Sr.'s right-wing ties were "separatist" as such -- some were, some weren't. It might be possible to clarify the wording further, but the IP's edit seemed to be censoring or concealing information. CJCurrie 20:45, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey thanks, I didn't know my flag was contraband!

[edit]

Although I REALLY love my flag, I honestly had no idea that a flag was innapropriate. I will drop it after this message. I have to admit, doing so will make me sad, as I just today figured out how to do that. Oh well. Hey...is that rule posted anywhere. Thanks again, Kukini 23:20, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Bucketsofg/Archive 3,

Thank you for supporting my RFA! Unfortunately it did not succeed mainly because most opposers wanted me to spend more time on Wikipedia. Thank you for your faith in me & looking forward to your continued support in the future.

Word on the street is

[edit]

That you're up on Polyknees ethnologists. There is a guy called Edward S. Craighill Handy, American I think, involved in migration theories of the early twentieth century according to this [1]. Handy might - might I say - be another article for you. Another guy who thought the Polys came from India I think. BTW I'm rewriting Kupe in case you hadn't noticed. The truth is much more complex (yet more simple too) than the 'standard version'. Often the case with Poly myths. Hence my impatience with crap articles that slightly triggered the Great AfD of March. (Tho I must admit Grutness' swift action kinda took me by surprise - but it all worked out in the end yaada yaada). Kahuroa 04:36, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My 'polyknees' was a veiled reference to the song. Us Polynesians are like that - indirect. Awesome song dude. Tho I'd have gone for the White Stripes personally rather than G&S. Sounds like a deserving cause - rfA I mean. OK to mention me/just make me sound good Kahuroa 04:54, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note about my little song. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had originally written it to be a wiki-education game--see how many articles you can edit and make a link from a reference in the song. Once I got to the admin stuff, I decided to turn it into a mock self-nomination. I may go back and gamify it later. Bucketsofg 14:59, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bucketsofg - I'm very sorry to have disappointed your expectation in me, but it had become impossible for me to compromise my principles. I don't covet adminship at all, so it wasn't a difficult decision - I simply cannot accept misrepresentation and nonsense. However, I cannot tell you how greatly joyous I feel at the enthusiastic, wonderful support you expressed for me. I don't know how hard it will be to understand that your supports means extremely a lot to me. I thank you from my heart, and please let me know if I can ever be assistance or help in anything. Rama's Arrow 19:55, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hehehehehe - I don't think you read my thanks note in full. This was the easiest decision for me. On the contrary, I will sleep better now. Please let me know if/when I can be of assistance. Rama's Arrow 20:08, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit of The Catlins

[edit]

I appreciate your watchfulness of the editing that is being done, but I would like to point out that the changes I made to the Catlins post were not destructive, but were instead removing content that was neither applicable nor appropriate. Having a random picture of a man with a caption of "You can tell this guy eats semen," doesn't belong on that page. I deleted this picture, removed the caption, and deleted another line of text that had definite sexual connotations. Just providing a defense for my edits, thanks again for being cautious and looking into things, Kreyth

LOL! Yes, I was parodying a recent topic at WP:AN (I wish I was better at searching archives). Someone created a humour page in huge text for old Wikipedians, just because it was a redlink on AN :P. Thanks for your comments on the criterion, yes it is meant to encourage all-roundedness in admins-to-be, as well as a drive for editors to improve those ones that are 'almost-there'.

Anyway, got a favourite topic in your mind? Make it a featured article! I can tell you, that the feeling of seeing the article through featured status will give you much more satisfaction than earning votes. :) - Best regards, Mailer Diablo 19:02, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just noticed your G&S parody - not the full-length one, the short snippet that you posted to thank people for their support on your RfA. I hate to tell you this, but, well... you got the scansion wrong. The second line should be "thank you for your support".

thank you for your support, I pledge to serve both you and Jimbo Wales."

You see?

Normally I'd just let this go, but you've gone to all the trouble to be syllabically exact with your parodies...

Paging Buckets

[edit]

Paging Mr.Buckets... Mr.Buckets please report to the [Red Courtesy Phone] I've put up a vandal box recording the number of times that my own personal page has been vandalized and how many times the Somena page has been vandalized. I'm being told that it's not appropriate by user Skookum1, and he insists that the vandalism that has occured on Somena entry is not vandalism and is merely edits. Could you review and give your considered opinion. I note that none of these attacks/edits on the Somena page occured until a certain you KKKnow who discovered my identity was not Edward T Bear, and teamed up with some others to try and rattle me. The Somena page sat, completely untouched for months until that took place. Now every few months somebody (usually anonymous) makes a stupid little jab, or remark or insults my family members or me on it.

Is it considered bad form to have a vandal box on an entry that is regularly being vandalized? What do you propose that I do about the on-going vandalism should it occur? I am trying to write a decent NPOV article about my Indigenous Nation, and it's very frustrating when this sort of thing keeps going on. Your looking into this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Buckets. :) Somena 00:36, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
