The article APE SH!T has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This happened because the article seems to be about a person or group of persons but it does not indicate how or why that person or group is notable. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You might also want to read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. Welcome!
[edit]Hello, BrownEyedCyclops, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Speedy deletion nomination of Badass Film Tour
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Badass Film Tour, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Request reason:
I made some mistakes in my attempt to add details and information to an event referenced in a preexisting Wikipedia page. For my missteps, I am sorry. I am trying to fix the errors and be a better/more informed contributor moving forward. I created a page to add historical context to a referenced event on another Wiki page. In doing so, I copied and pasted relevant references from the related Wiki page and, unbeknownst to me, the links didn’t carry over properly. I did not notice that the links were broken and the page was called out for a lack of citations (Unambiguous advertising or promotion: fake refs. (G11)). I took it to mean by “fake refs” that the moderator thought I was promoting with fake/fraudulent or completely fabricated links. This is when I first realized the links I copy/pasted did not carry over. So I fixed the broken links and updated. I thought that would have me in compliance as that was the only error cited. I re-posted the page confident that I did it right. When I woke up this morning, the page was down again with the note “Clearly not here to build an encyclopedia, undisclosed COI” w/ references to A7 (No indication of importance). The page I was trying to create would have added detail to an already referenced historical event: a unique and noteworthy film tour (Badass Film Tour) that was mentioned in the page for the film itself (Total Badass). So I thought the importance of the tour was self evident as it was prominently featured in the page about the film and I didn’t add additional links to reference the tour because the tour was mentioned in the already existing links. RE: COI, Where does on disclose a conflict of interest? I am not trying to hide anything. I have specific knowledge of this tour because I was part of it and thought I could provide context. The tour was noteworthy not because I felt so, but because it was a unique and untested approach to film distribution that was pointed out by and written about by the New York Times, Vice, The Austin Chronicle, MovieMaker Magazine, The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Patch, The Advocate, Flavorpill and several other outlets. A few of these outlets were already linked to the film’s page (the ones I tried to copy/paste). And yeah, I should have linked all of these from the get-go, I now realize. So to address A7, I dug up the links to noteworthy outlets pointing out the historical significance of the tours, and went to include them. Also G11 (Unambiguous advertising or promotion) was mentioned again. I had already fixed the “fake refs” link, but maybe there was something else? So I went back to play it super-safe and make it completely devoid of editorialized content. I noticed that I did use the word “hilarious” when referring to the tour, maybe “hilarious” was problematic. So I took it out. (I would note that several reviews described the films/tour as “hilarious,” but I did not provide citation, so I understand how that could be misconstrued.) One other thing occurred to me that might seem promotional and I went to remove it: I originally included a sentence saying that the film tour was documented but the footage was lost years ago and only recently rediscovered and that the film tour footage is to be released later this year. There is not a third party site to attribute that information to, so I felt it might seem promotional without one and it should be removed. When I went to update/fix these honest mistakes I found I had been permanently blocked and that the entire page had been deleted. In attempting to create this page, I was hoping to contribute information related to another Wiki page that referenced the unusual/unique Badass Film Tour. I dispute the idea that I am not interested in adding to the encyclopedia. I saw that there was mention of the tour and, despite much press coverage, virtually no information on the film tour itself is included on Wikipedia so I was hoping to share some historical context and detail to the wonderful well of history and insight that is Wikipedia. Please let me know what I can do to fix these things. I have no track record of spamming or promoting but was only trying to provide important information and context to a historical and noteworthy event. Thank you.
