Speedy deletion nomination of Mr.cook

[edit]

Hello Broseph152,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mr.cook for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ☾Loriendrew☽ (talk) 00:04, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

Hi Broseph152: I am an administrator here on the English Wikipedia. Thank you for registering an account, and I appreciate the point you wanted to make to your teacher, but the encyclopedia does not exist for shout-outs to friends or for making points, and would quickly stop being useful as an encyclopedia if we let everyone use it for such purposes. I've given you some links above to our policies, etc., and I hope you'll stick around and help us build it. Yngvadottir (talk) 05:49, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Broseph, you can call me 74. Appreciate you fixing up the wording at Free African Society, thanks. Yngvadottir did a bit more, and I did a bit more. Check it out, and see if you like it. I also ran across some things I had questions about, see Talk:Free African Society. Anyways, if you need anything, let me know. (Click 'talk' next to my name, click 'new section' at the top, type your message, then click 'save'.) See you around the 'pedia. 74.192.84.101 (talk) 11:10, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

oh yeah, almost forgot Mister Cook

[edit]

I work over at WP:AFC sometimes. The article on Cook is prolly not gonna be accepted.  :-)

But you already knew that. On the other hand, hey, the rules are simple. WP:42. If there is some newspaper / teevee / magazine coverage of Cook, then I can help you get a short article written. But there has to be something published about them, by professionals (blogs and facebook don't count).

The real reason that wikipedia isn't used for school projects isn't because it is full of incorrect stuff that people just made up one day, but rather, because it is WP:NOTCENSORED. That's not to say that wikipedia is perfect, mind you. If I had a nickel for every time I found a bug in wikipedia... but folks around here try hard to keep out the nonsense. If you like, I can give you some ideas for a real article, and introduce you to some other folks I know. They'll help you get it whipped into shape, with references and formatting and all that jazz. Let me know, if you want to give it a whirl. 74.192.84.101 (talk) 11:19, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
