Jim Lemley

[edit]

I started the page on Jim a month ago. I noticed you completed it, and did a nice job. Have you any knowledge of who he is, or did you just notice my incomplete page in user draft space, and decide to complete it? A lot of stuff is not sourced, because what I have is personal knowledge from people who know him. Veritasenlumine (talk) 15:50, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello - He's a tv/film producer and I know him personally. I did not know you were writing a page. Please check back to the page as most things are sourced. BrookieFisher (talk) 17:25, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for previous message, if you saw it. I realized after the fact it wasn't polite to broach certain topics (as the info I asked of you is probably not true). I added a couple of references, after searching a bit. So I hope everything looks good for wiki guidelines. Only thing is, where is the reference for him having been born in Seattle, it is my understanding he is from Boise, Idaho.Veritasenlumine (talk) 19:49, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He was born in Seattle... before going to Idaho. How would I reference that? His birth certificate? BrookieFisher (talk) 17:37, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No need for sarcasm, I was only asking. It was just a misunderstanding, as I know he is from Idaho. Sorry... I suppose you are in charge of writing this wiki, as you seem to be well researched in personal details. I just started a page because I noticed that when looking at a film he produced, there was no page for him, and I know people who know him well enough to provide for info to be used on a wikipedia entry. Sorry to bother you, you know him personally, so I will just trust you and leave it at that, whomever you are. Veritasenlumine (talk) 17:45, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please note Wikipedia conflict of interest policy

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Secret Millionaire, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 01:28, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Grant Mansfield requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.plimsollproductions.com/?people=grant-mansfield and https://www.channel4.com/press/news/good-wood-channel-4-puts-woodworkers-test. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
