Biographies of living persons

[edit]

Hi. I see that you are actively editing some biographies of living persons. It's good to have somebody put in the effort to bring biographical information up-to-date. Please, in the process of doing so, take note of the guidance provided in the article, Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Even if you are certain that the changes that you are making are correct, it is critical that changes to biography pages be supported by high quality references. Also, the tone of a biography should be conservative, not sensational or inflammatory. Thanks. Arllaw (talk) 18:06, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Psychology does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! --Renat 14:49, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I normally do. However I will ensure I do with every edit. Thanks for the note. Brokenrecordsagain (talk) 13:40, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia

[edit]

Smile emoji Hi Brokenrecordsagain! Thank you for your edits to Psychology. It looks like you've copied or moved text from Industrial and organizational psychology into that page, and while you are welcome to do so, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. If you've copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thanks! DanCherek (talk) 03:28, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey DanCherek. The industrial organizational psychology article seems to be locked after checking it today. Brokenrecordsagain (talk) 00:47, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, please see my edit summary there. Graham87 03:40, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
