License tagging for File:Cats on the Coast cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Cats on the Coast cover.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:06, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Out of the Blues.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 22:03, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation

[edit]
You recently made a submission to Articles for Creation. Your article has been reviewed and because some issues were found, it could not be accepted in its current form; it is now located at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Out of the Blues: The Best of David Bromberg. Please view your submission to see the comments left by the reviewer. Feel free to edit the submission to address the issues raised, and resubmit once you feel they have been resolved. (You can do this by adding the text {{subst:AFC submission/submit}} to the top of the article.) Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia!  Chzz  ►  10:32, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Out of the Blues

[edit]

Greetings, Broderij. I see you were working on creating an article for Out of the Blues: The Best of David Bromberg. Looks like you submitted it to Articles for Creation, and they said that it should have more reliable, third-party sources. I think I can help you fix that, and get the article published on Wikipedia. Let me know if you're interested. If you reply here, I will see what you say, or you can post back in a new section on my user talk page. Mudwater (Talk) 11:53, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Help on Out of the Blues

[edit]

Would be appreciated.

Okay then. For starters, I think it's fine to go through Articles For Creation like you did. They gave some good feedback, which is that the article should have more reliable, third-party references. But instead of resubmitting it to them, let's just create a "sandbox" to use when working on the article, and then you can create the article yourself, when it's "ready for prime time". For the sandbox, I suggest that you create a user page, then create a sub-page of the user page, and we can work on the article there.
  • To create your user page, click on the red "User page" link, in the tab in the upper left of this page. You'll then be editing your own user page, called User:Broderij. For now it doesn't have to say much, so you can just paste in a user page template: {{User page}} Then click the Save Page button near the bottom. (Or course it's always better to click the Show Preview button first, look at what you've done, and then either change it some more and click Show Preview again, or, if it looks good, then click Save Page.)
  • To create a sub-page called User:Broderij/Sandbox1, edit the user page and, below the user page template, create a red link to the subpage, like this: [[/Sandbox1]] Then click the Save Page button.
  • Then go to the sub-page by clicking the red link. Now you're editing User:Broderij/Sandbox1. Copy the article as it is so far, from Articles For Creation, paste it in, and save it. So now you have a working draft of the article saved as a sub-page of your user page.
I think you can do all this on your own, but if you want me to do it for you that's okay too. When that's all set up, we can talk more here. I'm thinking that I can add more references to the article in the sandbox, and, here in this user talk page section, talk about what I've done. I also have a few other improvements in mind. When we're done with all that you can create the article on Wikipedia yourself.
P.S. You should sign your talk page posts, but not your article edits, with four tildes: ~~~~ If you click Show Preview you'll see that they're transformed into your signature. Mudwater (Talk) 00:59, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I decided to take the direct approach, and I've made a number of updates to the proposed article, in Articles for Creation, here. As part of that I added two more references -- reviews of the album, from Allmusic and from Billboard. It's always important to have good references, especially to establish the notability of the album, or of whatever the article's about, and that's what the original reviewer was complaining about, back in November. I resubmitted the article to be reviewed again, so let's see what they say this time. (If you reply here, I will see what you say.) Mudwater (Talk) 19:10, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That worked, the article was reviewed again and has now been created, at Out of the Blues: The Best of David Bromberg. So, thanks for creating that article, with a bit of assistance. Mudwater (Talk) 08:31, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
