You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Partha Pratim Moitra, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. COI

[edit]

You have an obvious conflict of interest, please don't write about yourself, your friends, relatives or employer and read the COI guidance below

If you work directly or indirectly for a person or organisation, or otherwise are acting on their behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the person or organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Brihannalasom. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Brihannalasom|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message. Also read the following regarding writing an article

  • When you write about a person, you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that they meet the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • you must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:27, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

More

[edit]

Thanks for your message. I've looked at your deleted draft, and it's not so much a matter of a biography not being allowed, as you not following our editing guidance.

  • There isn't a single wikilink in the article (for example Kolkata should be linked) which gives the impression that text has just been dumped here without thought
  • Your further reading is basically just social media and YouTube and has no place in an article. Similarly the external links, just a collection of media links; if they are not references, they aren't needed here
  • All your references and links are just bare urls, and many are not independent third-party sources, for example you use FaceBook and Wikipedia as refs. The groundzero article seems to be written by him, so not suitable as a ref.
  • much of your text has no references at all. Biographies must be fully verifiable
  • You claim to have no connection with him, yet you seem to know that he requested speedy deletion, and know his motives, with your unsourced claims who changed the thought process of Moitra from his core... he decided to be format flexible... BY this time he decided to shift the future format of moviemaking.... You also took the close up indoor photograph of him, so you clearly do know him, and what you said on my talk page is untrue. If you are not transparent about your connection, I will block you as an undeclared paid editor
  • you give opinions , such as a star of Bengal Film Industry. In this institute he got the chance of interacting with leading film personalities and all the branches of film making and allied arts including Film direction., Video. After successful completion
  • it's not at all clear how he meets the notability guidelines for people or creative professionals. Your summary said a filmmaker and poet from Barak Valley, Assam known for his political writings and video activism, none of which makes him notable

If you want to try again, you must follow the guidance I posted above, and declare your conflict of interest as prescribed above. Also see Pamela C. Rasmussen to see what a proper biography should look like

Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:58, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • So your claim that the photo was your own work was untrue?[1] After that it's honestly a little hard to know which of your statements to believe. I have listed the photo for deletion, since you now say you didn't take it yourself. See [2]. Bishonen | talk 10:33, 16 August 2019 (UTC).[reply]
  • You can't use any photo you didn't actually take yourself unless it's clearly marked as public domain, which is unlikely to be the case. As Bishonen says, we don't actually know whether you have misled us about knowing him, or alternatively misled us by making a fake declaration that it was your own image. However much you may admire him, this page isn't to right great wrongs, it's to give a neutral biography. If you can't find independent third-party sources, the article won't be accepted. You can, of course, try again as a draft and let me know when you think it is ready, but if it doesn't comply with the extensive guidance I've given it will get deleted again Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:18, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Jimfbleak

As this was my first attempt to write an article here, my over enthusiasm might have created many confusions. But let me assure you that I actually had no intention to misled you by making fake declarations. However, please help me to write a neutral biography of the person and few others like him, in future. Will you please guide me to understand, what is an independent third-party source? As you suggested, I shall try again to write a draft article and let you know when it is ready, complying with the extensive guidance you've given. Thanking you again. Please convey that I am really sorry for the declaration about the image to Bishonen also.
