May 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm 331dot. I noticed that you made a change to an article, It's Alright (Pet Shop Boys song), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please note that any Wikipedia user can claim to be anyone; while I believe what you say, you will need a reliable source to indicate that you wrote the song. 331dot (talk) 20:30, 7 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Brightledge. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article It's Alright (Pet Shop Boys song), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 20:30, 7 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

For a citation something is needed that is a reliable source; something published like a review or news story about this song, or even the recording itself and its credits would be sufficient. As anyone can claim to be any person here, we are unable to simply take your word for it.

I highly suggest you review the above links to better understand conflict of interest; generally those with a COI should not directly edit in the area of their COI, instead discussing their concerns on the talk page first. Your issues seem too complicated to discuss in edit summaries, and you should take them to the talk page. 331dot (talk) 20:44, 7 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there[edit]

Hi Brightledge, how're you? I can see you're having a bit of difficulty, and was wondering if I could help out? The link you are trying to add is not considered a reliable source - can you find another link mentioning the fact you are trying to introduce? -- samtar talk or stalk 20:53, 7 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
