Meechok Sor. Ploenchit moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Meechok Sor. Ploenchit. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and Please read and follow for sources on this article WP:BLPSOURCE . I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 02:36, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

He was a champion during the Golden Era of Muay Thai, considered the most popular/competitive era, and defeated multiple other champions? This was already proven by my sources to his surviving fights, no? It's difficult to find more because Muay Thai promoters didn't care to preserve fights, he was popular before the internet, and it's mostly in Thai.
Josh Appelt, for example, has a Wikipedia page because of a mediocre career in MMA. He didn't get close to becoming anyone considered elite, let alone a respected champion, in a relatively uncompetitive division. I don't think all of those journeymen have much "notability".
Briantcraven (talk) 07:12, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
He does not have sources that establish notability in the article, most of your sources are to Youtube. Please read WP:YOUTUBE. YouTube is a self-published source and does not establish notability for Biography of Living People (BLP) topics. The fights can be used to establish notability but you should use newspaper entries about them or other articles from the time period. Sources do not have to be just english, they can be Thai as well per WP:NONENGLISH. If you are at least able to find 2-3 more sources that can establish notability about the person, it may be encyclopedic enough to have its own article. Thank you, Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 07:20, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Who're you exactly and how'd you find my article? Briantcraven (talk) 07:38, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am Cowboygilbert, your fellow Wikipedia editor and a member of the New Page Patrol where we patrol... new pages! Your article was in the feed waiting to be reviewed. Thank you, Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 07:40, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So anyone can do what you're doing? Briantcraven (talk) 07:42, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, you have to request for it and an admin who focuses in that area will come along and see if you match the knowledge and ability to know how to work on and review new articles. You can read more at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Reviewers#Guidelines for granting and request it at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/New page reviewer! Good to know Briantcraven (talk) 07:52, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Now if you excuse me I have to painstakingly find sources with Google Translate and contact collectors so I can prove what I've already proven. Thanks. Briantcraven (talk) 07:53, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to the painstakingly job of being a Wikipedia editor. I hope I don't discourage your ventures through Wikispace and you stay here and I see you as a New page reviewer one day! Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 07:56, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The strength of Wikipedia is through the collective contribution of multiple editors. I don't think nitpicking sources, especially since pages "don't have to be perfect, just not entirely unsuitable for inclusion", is all too helpful considering others will eventually contribute.
I'll be making a lot more articles to help document the history of Muay Thai so until next time. Briantcraven (talk) 08:13, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
While this may be true, all information on Wikipedia has to be verified to be shown that an editor is not adding original research. That's why it is good to use a reliable and independent source! Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 08:16, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
