Mentioning an appearance and over-relying on press releases

[edit]

Hello. Please be more careful when adding that people have appeared on a certain program. This appears to be promotional, since appearances are not, by themselves, all that noteworthy, especially not without WP:SECONDARY sources explaining why they're significant. Additionally, it would be a good idea to hold back on the use of press releases as sources. As a general rule of thumb, if the only thing you can find mentioning a fact is a press release promoting something, it's probably not worth including in Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a platform for advertising. Thank you, Grayfell (talk) 02:00, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notes, Grayfell! I'm just learning how to use Wiki and I appreciate the help. I want to be a good contributor.

No problem. Good luck, and happy editing! Grayfell (talk) 22:08, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article GJ Reynolds has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Poorly sourced BLP of dubious notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You deleted more than just the PROD notice. I reverted then deleted the PROD notice. JoeSperrazza (talk) 02:10, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
