File permission problem with File:James Norwood.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:James Norwood.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 11:09, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not replace pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to Reece Styche, as this is confusing to readers. The page's content has been restored for now. If there is a problem with the page, it should be edited or reverted to a previous version if possible; if you think the page should be removed entirely, see further information. Thank you. Recent file uploads

[edit]

Hi! Thank you for contributions to Wikipedia's football articles. I was looking over some of your recent file uploads and noticed that you didn't make clear on the description whether or not you had permission to upload these images. Wikipedia only allows free images of living people to be used in articles, and when I say free I mean released under a free license such as the "Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 1.0" license. You can read Wikipedia's policy on uploading images here. As an example, please take a look at File:Chris Stokes 031112.jpg. In what form were you given notice from the photographer that he or she would license it under the Creative Commons license? Through email? Please leave me a note on my talk page so we can make the necessary arrangements to ensure the images can be used on Wikipedia. Thank you. --Odie5533 (talk) 12:58, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response Brent. The photographs are amazing! I've tagged some of the old images you uploaded with {{OTRS pending}} so that none will get deleted until OTRS (the guys who read the email) can take a look at the permission response. You should probably receive a response from them within a few days. Getting permission for photographs does require a few steps, and you can read about it at Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. I have personally gone through the process for a number of images in the past, so if you have any trouble with it, or your permission gets denied from OTRS, let me know and I would be more than happy to work with you to keep these incredible photographs you've shared on Wikipedia. --Odie5533 (talk) 21:05, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Belated Welcome!

Nomination of James Rowe (footballer) for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article James Rowe (footballer) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James Rowe (footballer) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Sir Sputnik (talk) 01:20, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Matt Bulman has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included.

Hello BrentCrudeOil. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Matty Taylor".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Matty Taylor}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Hack (talk) 12:14, 16 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
