I've marked this as a copyright violation, as the text is cut+pasted from another site. By all means re-word what's on the original site, but it's not possible to directly paste copyrighted information into wikipedia. Regards, --OscarTheCattalk 21:22, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can I delete the offending page? Thanks, Brek 22:08, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I am (clearly) new to all this. I was sent here by a Kepler Quartet colleague to address Kepler Quartet-related omissions/errors/outdated info. at http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Ben_Johnston. There are (clearly) protocols here that require mastering, although none of it is inconsistent with my own personal "philosophy", as it were. (Simply figuring out how to respond here is considerably mind-bending, in itself.)
Hi Brek. It's a bit mindbending getting the hang of wikipedia, I agree. The copyright violation : (1) you can leave it, and hope that someone creates a non-violating version of the page, or (2) rewrite it yourself from scratch, at page Database_of_Recorded_American_Music/Temp. If it's still a violation in 7 days time, and nobody has produced a ok-version, it'll just get removed. Best way to get used to wikipedia is try editing your own page, put some links on etc. And then embark on some minor changes of other pages where you can spot inconsistencies/mistakes etc. Regards, --OscarTheCattalk 22:15, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It has been more than 7 days. Shouldn't there have been a decision whether to use the Database_of_Recorded_American_Music/Temp article that I created? Thanks. Brek 06:20, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Brek! Thanks for your additions to the article. I didn't even notice the repetition; thanks for pointing it out.

As for Wikipedia protocol (also known as Wikiquette), don't worry about it so much. Nobody owns articles, so feel free to change whatever you like. You're doing fine.

BTW, I really want a copy of that new CD. Where do you recommend I get one? —Keenan Pepper 02:24, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Keenan - There's always directly from the label New World Records. Or Amazon.com where you can also access third-party "Amazon Merchant" discount pricing (cheaper than Amazon's list price, shown as "used and new" link below main description). I have not searched for the rock-bottom lowest price anywhere else, but other options include:
Barnes & Noble, Arkiv Music, Verge Music, Uncommonly Classical and via mail order from Exceptional Music (915 Broadway, Albany, NY 12207; Tel: 800-752-1951) and H & B Recordings Direct (P.O. Box 309, Waterbury Center, VT 05677; Tel: 800-222-6872). Thank you for your interest! Brek 05:08, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brek - how you getting on with wikipedia? Any remaining questions I can help out with? Regards, --OscarTheCattalk 19:58, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - Thanks for asking. I was able to determine, with Commander Keane's help, that I was indeed experiencing a browser conflict in not being able to see the 'edit this page' tab in anybody's talk page, including my own. His fix is to have me type '?&action=edit' at the end of the URL so that I can jump to edit mode. (In a roundabout way, I was able to get the 'edit this page' tab if I first went through the edit link for an individual entry at a talk page ... whatever; it's a boring old browser problem.) Thanks.
