Information icon Hello, I'm Chiswick Chap. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Paddleboard Yoga have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Chiswick Chap (talk) 10:13, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Chiswick,
Thank you for your email.
Yes, I realized that my first could appear to be advertising or promotional, thats why I quickly changed it and did a second edit.
The second edit has, in my opinion, zero signs of promotional intent, it adds value, is informative and written objectively using independent sources from a neutral perspective. Kindly reconsider the approval of this addition, that I believe adds value to the page and your users.
I am available to hear your inputs and contribute to adapt it further if necessary.
Thank you,
Kind regards BreathingExerciseGuide (talk) 10:55, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you believe that, in our second edit, the simple inclusion of the last sentence that references our article (initial investigation that made possible gathering the scientific studies references) is still promotional, then we can delete it.
We are happy to contribute to wikipedia, and not reference our investigational post at all.
Please take into consideration that we made this contribution in good faith. Its our first contribution of hopefuly many others to come in the future, and we are still begining to understand all wikipedia rules.
Thank you,
Kind regards, BreathingExerciseGuide (talk) 11:24, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Who is "we"

[edit]

"We are happy to contribute" and "inclusion of the last sentence that references our article" may indicate a violation of the Username policy as a Username implying shared use. Please explain. -- Alexf(talk) 22:59, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We, the website, which is managed by one person only. Same with this account. I was eager to contribute with added value, independent and well researched content. But it seems the rules are incredibly tight, and there is always the assumption that someone is doing things with second nefarious intentions. Nonetheless, I understand your side as well, you need to protect wikipedia. BreathingExerciseGuide (talk) 12:42, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Your account has been blocked from editing because your username gives the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, product, department, or website. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here. You may also read our FAQ for article subjects.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change to this account.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username of this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Important items to note:

  • The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • The new username you choose cannot already be taken and used by another account. You can search here to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns, "There is no global account for [username]", that means it is available.
  • Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, department, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Thank you. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 23:12, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

As noted below, this choice of username isn't appropriate either. Please choose something else. 331dot (talk) 08:16, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The username is part of the issue; additionally, you will need to explicitly agree to not add links to your breathingexerciseguide site or any other sites that you may be affiliated with. Any content additions to Wikipedia must included citations from reliable sources, and self-published breathing guides and similar commercial content do not qualify. I'd also strongly suggest "beg" stands for "BreathingExerciseGuide", so would be inappropriate. --Yamla (talk) 19:11, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
