Excuse me, but I'm going to revert your changes. The setup of Hunger and Hunger (motivational state) was a result of careful consideration. There may be justification for changing it, but it needs to be discussed first. Please explain, preferably at Talk:Hunger, why you feel this change is the right thing to do (and I'll answer with why it isn't, and we can discuss it). Regards, Looie496 (talk) 15:56, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Just to follow up on that, the basic problem is that we were finding that many people care very deeply about hunger in the sense of malnutrition, and no matter what steps are taken, they will come to the article called hunger and add material about that topic. Struggling against that is just too much of a pain, in my opinion -- the only way to make the situation manageable is to have hunger be about malnutrition, even if that is not the right decision in a legalistic sense. At least that's my opinion; you can find the discussion that led to it at the bottom of Talk:Hunger. I'm certainly open to further discussion, though. Warning
Your edits on the Eldiguzids and Nezami can be considered vandalism as you have no right to distort primary sources. Given that you are under AA2, I strongly advise you to use the talkpage next time and ask for clarification. --Khodabandeh14 (talk) 14:14, 23 December 2010 (UTC) If you need reference on the line about Nezami see here: [1](If you have a problem, I can upload the page). And if you need reference on the line on Eldiguzids, see here: [2] which is the source that states: "Eldiguz was originally a Qypchaq military slave". And note when they took power: "Ḵāṣṣ Beg Arslān b. Palangarī in 548/1153, who had been given a position in that area as well. His situation in Azerbaijan seems to have been regularized by a peace which he and Āq Sonqor II of Marāḡa concluded in 549/1154-55 with his enemy, Sultan Moḥammad b. Maḥmūd (Bondārī, Zobda, p. 243, Minorsky, “Marāgha,” EI1III, p. 263)."[3] which is after 1141 (when the Seljuq empire had real control and not nominal control). --Khodabandeh14 (talk) 14:33, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
- Please note, Eldiguz was born in 530/135-36. Nezami was born in 1141, and at that time, Seljuq controlled the area (when Eldiguz, the founder of the Eldiguzids was 5-6 years old). The Atabeg dynasties would still be considered part of the larger Seljuq empire anyhow, even if the period was much later, but it is not.--Khodabandeh14 (talk) 14:56, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
My mistake on the birth of Eldiguz, but he was given Arran in 1153 "and that on the vizier’s death he passed first to Maḥmūd, then to Sultan Masʿūd (527/1133 to 547/1152) who gave him Arrān as eqṭāʿ "[4] which is after 1146 , and even in 1153, it was still under full Seljuq control. That is why Britannica is correct in this case. Thanks.--Khodabandeh14 (talk) 15:17, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Actually, they took control of the Seljuq Sultanate in 1160 (see their own article in wikipedia and Iranica). However, in the Nezami article, it has been mentioned that they controlled Ganja most of the later half of the 12th century. So Britannica is correct in putting the birth in the Seljuq empire as the Eldiguzids were under Seljuq control at the time (1141/1146..). --Khodabandeh14 (talk) 17:07, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

I gave the hook an AGF approval because I'm willing to accept the information from Fabian Garin's work in counting the prose size. However, I do strongly recommend creating at least a stub on Garin based on the Russian Wikipedia article. Other DYK editors may disagree with the approval and consensus could emerge not to promote it but I think a Garin article would go a long way in establishing the encyclopedic worth of the text in the Samusenko article. Warning
For several months now, I have observed and documented your habit of you subtly removing and suppressing information from articles, often without any discussion and most of the time through false and misleading edit summaries. I believed that after the first few reverts and admonitions you would desist from such harmful activity but your most recent edit on the Caucasian Albania article, which you glibly termed as mere "clean up" when it in fact consisted of wholesale revisions and suppression of information relating to Armenia, appears to confirm the exact opposite. Warning on edit-warring and disruptive editing
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue. In particular the three-revert rule states that making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block. Work towards wording and content that gains consensus among editors. If unsuccessful, then do not edit war even if you believe you are right. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Vandorenfm (talk) 17:30, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Could you also check and control the two articles Ermenikend and Gulf of Iskenderun?

Shakesepeare authorship question
Please do not make changes to the title of articles of such a controversial nature without discussing the matter on Talk. Do you really think there might be some confusion about whether this is William or some other writer called Shakespeare? Paul B (talk) 19:30, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think that adding the name is controversial: the presence of the first name serves the encyclopedic purposes. Also, there is William Shakespeare (disambiguation). Brandmeister t 19:35, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- The existence of that page is irrelevant. Shakespeare redirects to William, of course, as it should. In all cases where there is more than one person with the name there are disambiguation pages, even if one person is overwhelmingly the best known. There are numerous books on Shakespeare which simply use the surname in the title, because there is not doubt at all which Shakespeare is meant. However, that's less important than the fact that you should discuss, not change willy-nilly just because you feel like it. This article has just gone through an arduous FAC candidacy. Paul B (talk) 19:39, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
Edits
Hi, It had been a long time since I saw your edits - last seen on the Shroud page. I did not even know if you were still editing. If you look there now you will see Shroud film spam that was avoided after much discussion. But anyway, I do think your recent changes on the Jesus page were constructive. I have only been working on that page for a few weeks now. Now, two separate things:
- I think it would be a good idea to make a Passion template with more details so it can have Herod, etc. If you want to do it, fine, else I can do it. The current template is long anyway.
- I will try to fix the Last Supper page this week, and I wonder if you have time to look over it, given that it needs a lot of help. As I said on the talk page there it has all kinds of incorrect statements and is very choppy and inconsistent looking. I fixed the aristic parts now, but your suggestions on the biblical issues as that page gets fixed will be appreciated.
Cheers. History2007 (talk) 15:42, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, there is actually Template:Gospel Jesus, which includes all Passion events. I'll look through the Last Supper too. As for the Shroud, I'm thinking about something like Scientific analysis of the Shroud of Turin per WP:SPLIT since there are tons of dedicated sources. Brandmeister t 18:56, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, there is Template:Gospel Jesus but Carl objected to too much detail, and I think it does not have enough detail about the passion. So I will attempt a Passion template that can include Herod, the Seven last words, Farewell discourse, etc.
- Regarding a split for the Shroud, it is guaranteed to generate debate and consume time. There are so many, many articles that need help that I would dread to go back to the Shroud now. But your statement is valid. The Jesus article still needs much help, as does the Last Supper. So those should really be helped first. The Last Supper does not tell the user about the supper, just talks fragments. I will suggest something in a day, then we can discuss it. But it is in really bad shape now. Cheers. History2007 (talk) 19:15, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Great. I have now finished my first round of edits, removing the unsourced and incorrect items and adding structure. What needs help now is
- Institution of the Eucharist: Some more theology and detail is needed here. But this is not crucial.
- The Lead: This is in really bad shape. It is choppy and instead of summarizing the article it jumps around from point to point saying "in X it says Y"... "in A it says B'... It needs to provide a summary of the sequence of events in the narrative, something lik ethe Setting section that said:
- The overall narrative that is shared in all Gospel accounts that leads to the Last Supper is that after the Triumphal entry into Jerusalem early in the week, and encounters with various people and the Jewish elders, Jesus and his disciples share a meal towards the end of the week. After the meal Jesus is betrayed, arrested, tried and then crucified. Key events in the meal are the preparation of the disciples for the departure of Jesus, the predictions about the impending betrayal of Jesus, and the foretelling of the upcoming denial of Jesus by Apostle Peter.
It needs to telegram the event smoothly, and now it does not. If you could fix the lead that would be a great help. Then we can think about the Eucharist section, and the theology o fit, etc. Cheers. History2007 (talk) 00:30, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I think you did a good move on that article. I had almost neglected it after the long Afd on it. I think with a few touch ups the flags need to come off that article. Then it can get refocused as well. What do you think? History2007 (talk) 11:30, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

- Yes. But it is a subject worth fixing and removing tags, because a major subject like that should not have that many tags. And some tags are over-used anyway. History2007 (talk) 13:19, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Hello. I noticed you promoted one of Kalakaua's photograph for a feature photo and got a lot of users to help clean it up. Do you think File:Kalakaua.jpg deserves the same honor? Also there is a higher resolution version at the Library of Congress just to let you know. Ultimately I just wanted to find someone to jack the image up and make it look as good if not better than the one you nominated. --KAVEBEAR (talk) 02:12, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
Assistance communicating with Russian editor
Could you help me communicate with User:Demark7 (see his talk-page for where I tried)? His content appears to be cut'n'pasted from other websites and/or is original-research, but all I can really do is Google Translate. I saw you listed at Wikipedia:Local Embassy, so perhaps you can more easily figure out whether he is actually trying to discuss something and propose an article for inclusion here, or needs to be sent to ru.wp, or needs to be warned more strongly about soapboxing and other misuse issues? Hi there. I notice you have moved New Zealand Internet Blackout to New Zealand Internet blackout. Can you please explain why you did this as my understanding of Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization) is that for proper names, i.e. of persons, places or events (such as the NZIB) it is correct to have them in capitals. Just thought I'd ask before simply reverting. Cheers. Daveosaurus (talk) 02:22, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- Google suggests this isn't a proper name to be consistently capitalized by sources. You may restore it anyway if references show otherwise. Brandmeister t 11:10, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- It appears to be a proper name as per [7]. Daveosaurus (talk) 22:10, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Khojaly - "Manipulated evidence"
The section "Manipulated evidence" has almost completely been deleted with inexplicable reasons. The User "Grandmaster" (by the way: This user page has been vandalized 23 times) is almost deleting everything which is not "pro-Azerbaijani" and against his view, probably because of his own Azerbaijani backgroud which I found unsustainable!
The reasons for deleting almost the entire section "manipulated evidence" was "neutral tone, rm unsourced chunks, speculation and partisan referencing, please discuss before further additions". Please explain me what exactly you mean with "unsourced chunks"? Every "chunk" in my text ends with sources! Altogether there are 10 different sources mentioned.
And just to get this clear… Azerbaijani news-sites or obviously dubious sources like "www.hocalisoykirimi.com" are accepted and ok but sources like... - an original video interview of the person one is citing - Armenian news-sites - Russian news-websites (third-party-source) - the report "Ethnic Cleansing in Progress" (third-party-source) - "The European Center for Artakh" (a registered association from Germany)
... which are all sources I have used for "manipulated evidence" are considered to be "speculation and partisan referencing"?! If an original video interview is used to depict something, this is called "speculation"?! How can something be speculation if the fact can be heard in a video?
As long as Azerbaijani sources are considered to be neutral and non-partisan I don't want my detailed sourced(!) texts to be deleted completey just because it does not fit to someones point of view.
--Aghetrichter (talk) 02:15, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
- You should use the article's talk page, not user's personal page for discussion. As for your sources, as Brandmeister said, they are all partisan, including The European Center for Artakh, which is run by the Armenian diaspora. The official page of the website speaks for itself. Please use third party sources only. And hocalisoykirimi has not been used in the article. Grandmaster 07:48, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Muhammad RfC
You might want to have a look at the Muhammad RfC -- you added your comments after it was closed and so now people are deleting them. I've restored them twice but I can't keep doing so. My view is that it is improper for other editors to delete your comments; if the people closing the RfC want to ignore them for having been added too late, then fine -- but if they want to consider them on their merits then it's up to them. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 11:07, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- Brandmeister. The person who deleted your comments means no offense, but closing dates for these things are bright lines and they have to be. When do we stop accepting new input? Whose late additions stay and whose don't? I'm sure you can understand that you missed the window and there is no malice in enforcing the rules. I've reverted Nomoskedasticity and I cannot understand why he hasn't appealed to you to revert yourself or to leave your comments out, since again the commenting period is closed. Cheers.Griswaldo (talk) 12:01, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- It is (naturally) worth noting that Griswaldo expressed a view in the RfC that doesn't agree with your own. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 12:07, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
Hi Brandmeister. This links to my reverting your comments at the Muhammad images RfC. There is a conversation on my talk page about this situation. I apologise if I've behaved inappropriately Brandmeister. It seemed like the natural thing to do: I assumed you had overlooked the fact that the RfC was closed. If I had thought you had deliberately challanged that social norm, a formal closing date for submissions to an RfC, I most certainly would have taken the matter up on your talk page. --Anthonyhcole (talk) 12:27, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- I have no objection to removal, just didn't notice that it is closed. I'll probably repost the edit on RfC's talk. Brandmeistertalk 12:31, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- It's as likely to be read there as it is on the RfC page. I think this triumvirate will be quite diligent. You can be confident your views will be taken into account. --Anthonyhcole (talk) 12:39, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Need to see this.
diff As you might see, your last vote has been deleted from RfC since it was not within the provided time-lime of the said RfC. While, I discourage you from getting involved in edit-war, I urge you to write that delayed but valuable comment in the talk-page of the RfC (thus it may get some amount of exposure). And that could help improve wikipedia. Brendon ishere 17:44, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
