WELCOME
[edit]Thanks for visiting the bradfordschultze talk page. I'm formally a wikipedian since 2006, but have been a lurker for some time before that. I really enjoy this grand experiment in democratizing information.
I'm breaking up my talk page into topics, so that the various discussions are a little more manageable.
I completely endorse the [Wikipedia rules of conduct], and any discussions that do not follow the letter or intent of those rules will be immediately removed.

SAILING ARTICLES
[edit]More information on Sail Boat Manufacturing
[edit]Bradford,
In a posting at the Catalina Yachts article you had suggested that the other manufacturer's articles were weak, and that there were POV issues at the Catalina article.
I'm also working on an article for Hunter Marine - http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Hunter_Marine, and would like to develop an article for other past and present producers. Your feedback would be appreciated and also suggestins for other realted articles.
Thanks.

Working together on Sailing
[edit]Bradford,
Yes let's work together. I found some great info. on Island PAcket today but have not had a chance to do much with it. The IP site has a great history section.
I'm working on the Coronado article today. I was at a Catalina Rendezvous last weekend and there was a lot of discussion about the early days and Coronado which got me going on the idea of an article. The unofficial story is that Frank Butler already had molds built for a 22 foot boat; he was told to destroy them, but these ended up as the basis for the launching of Catalina Yachts -- of course that's a bit risky for an article. But these early 60's startups are facinating.
I've updated Beneteau, and Hunter too.
I'm at kevinmurray@sbcglobal.net if you want to talk direct

Topics for research
[edit]Bradford,
Here are some notable sailboat names taken from the Nor Cal PHRF list, some are manufacturers and some are just brand names, but they all have some significance in the history of sailing:
Cal Yachts (realted to Jenson) Cape Dory Cheoy Leee (Hong Kong) Dufour Ericson Farr Freedom Frers Hans Christian Herreshoff Hobie Islander Islander Bahama (may not be realted to Islander; I heard years ago that they are different - rumor or fact) Jeanneau (I think that this is part of Beneteau) Jenson Marine (related to Cal) Lancer Ludders Merit Morgan Yacht Newport O’Day Olson Passport Pearson Ranger Santa Cruz Santana Swan Tartan Wylie Yankee
If you want to work together it would be great!
I think we need to find out first what the actual name of the manufacturer is. Then find out if there are articles already in progress.
I'm not sure whether you like the format I've been using. I roughly followed the format that was established at Catalina (eg., Short Summary, History, Today, Models) My timeline at Catalina seemed umpopular, so I'll let that go. I like the list of models, whic over time can be linked to short articles on each boat. I like seeing the year and PHRF, of course others may disagree. What do you think? i don't want to promote any brand, but I'd like to put things into perspective for fledgling sailors.
PS: Are you a sailor? Do you have a boat? Where are you? I live east of San Francisco Bay, where I keep my Catalina 380. I have one foot in cruising and the other in racing. Though my boat is distinctly a cruiser I do OK in racing whne the seas and wind are high, and if I get a reachy course.
Talk to you soon.

A Potential Project

WINE ARTICLES
[edit]I've been creating some articles about wineries, winemakers and wine regions for California wines, specifically the wines of Santa Barbara County, California. Any feedback would be appreciated.Bradfordschultze 22:55, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
TRAVEL ARTICLES
[edit]I've been creating articles for various hotels, but am worried that some of these should really be linked to Wikitravel.Bradfordschultze 22:55, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Wikiproject Podcasting
[edit]I've noticed that you are a podcaster. Well, recently I've proposed a Wikiproject for podcasting. If you're interested go to the proposal page and list yourself under 'Interested Users'. Thanks, and hope to talk with you again soon. Ganfon 19:37, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'd like to thank you for your interest in Wikiproject Podcasting. As for your concern of the project, I couldn't agree more. There are already pleanty of non-notable podcasts on here...however, there are also pleanty of notable podcast that arn't. The project will focus on expanding Wikipedia's content of podcasting-related information, but at the same time will keep it clean of spam and NPOV issues (which are a problem almost anywhere). WikiProject Podcasting Started

Notice to WikiProject Podcasting Members
[edit]Hey there all, I've noticed that action on the podcasting project has slowed down. I'd just like to take this time to promote more action from all of you on the project. there are still open tasks to be worked on, and if anyone has anything else to contribute feel free to add a task to the list. Also, I've put the members names into a box, and would like to invite you all to add your favorite podcast to the column. Hope to work with you all soon, Ganfon 20:20, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Let's Get Rolling
[edit]The Podcasting wikiproject had a brief initial surge, but has since died away. I admit my part in this, I've been very busy as of late and have had little time to do any sort of editing. However the project has had almost no progress over the last few months. Our first task is to outline notability requirements. I have placed what was 'discussed' on the talk page on the main page, but there is certainly room for more input. Once the requirements are outlined we will need to start removing non-notable podcasts from Wikipedia. You all joined this project for a reason, now let's get the ball rolling.Ganfon 15:34, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject Podcasting
[edit]Hi Bradfordschultze, I noticed you were on the list as a member of WikiProject Podcasting! 2008 brings new updates to the project, such as Wikipedia 1.0 article assessment ratings, and new podcast infoboxes editors are working on.
In order to help us know who is working on writing, sourcing, rating articles, and in general helping out the project, I encourage you to check out the WP:PODCAST main page and move your name into the 2008 members list. If you'd like to still be part, but have a more indirect involvement on the project, feel free to leave your name on the former members list. Of course, if you're too busy with other commitments and wish to leave the project, simply remove your name. We'll sure miss you though! :)
The year ahead we would like to focus our energy on not only improving articles, but also provide WP:RS reliable sources to ensure each article meets WP:V verifiability.
All the best and happy podcasting. --Breno talk 10:04, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of The Leading Hotels of the World
[edit]A tag has been placed on The Leading Hotels of the World requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject).
I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.
If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!
If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.
Thank you and I hope to see you there! howcheng {chat} 23:36, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Bradfordschultze! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 41 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Hey, I was just looking over the list of members on the Podcasting group and wanted to see if you were still active in the project. If so, it looks like the project could use a little jump-start. In particular, I think notability requirements and assessment guidelines could be added/updated. Please check out the page if you're still interested and move your name to the 2011 active list. Thanks! Udeezy (talk) 23:05, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of The Leading Hotels of the World
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Leading Hotels of the World, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Tacyarg (talk) 14:20, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
