Notability of Farouk Kamoun

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Farouk Kamoun, by SkierRMH (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Farouk Kamoun seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Farouk Kamoun, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Farouk Kamoun itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 05:42, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The admin that deleted this page made the following note: "23:53, 26 June 2007 Riana (Talk | contribs) deleted "Farouk Kamoun" (CSD A7(Bio): Biographical article that does not assert significance content was: 'Farouk kammoun is now a professor at the ENSI (Ecole Nationale Sciecnes Informatiques) National Schoole of Computer Science, in Tunisia.He...')" For additional reasons you'll need to contact the admin: User talk:Riana. For the specific rationale in CSD look here for notability check Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Notability (people). Recreation of Farouk Kamoun

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Farouk Kamoun, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Farouk Kamoun is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Farouk Kamoun saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. Xiaphias 21:01, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need to add "hangon" to the article, I removed the speedy deletion tag since it seems to be inaccurate.--P4k 21:05, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the "hangon" is now valid -- I changed the speedy deletion request to the correct one (notability). The problem is that the person on whom the article focuses doesn't seem to be sufficiently notable to warrant his own article. If you disagree, try adding some information to the first paragraph that explains what Mr. Kamoun is best known for. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them on my .

Some Tips

[edit]

I saw the note that you posted on Mr. Kamoun's talk page. It's fine if you'd like to create an article about the professor, but you can't just copy-and-paste material from another website; you'll have to write it yourself. Here is some advice:

  • Break the article into sections by typing this: " == Header == " on its own line, replacing 'Header' with the name of that section. That will make the article easier to read. Consider sections like 'Early Life', 'Personal Life', 'Acedemic Contributions', ecttera.
  • Cite sources for the informations by adding a link to a website at the end of a sentence or paragraph, like this: "Kamoun served on the board for four years.[http://www.site.com]".
  • Look at other wikipedia articles to see how they are written and formatted, and try to emulate them.

Good luck with the article, and if you ned any more help, visit my talk page. Cheers! --Xiaphias 00:22, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tips

[edit]

Thank you for your tips ! I will solve sush problems as fast as I can. I will be happy to receive your comments, suggestions and new tips.

Howdy. I just checked your article, and it's much improved; I removed the 'deletion' tag. Nice work! Next, you might want to add an infobox by completing the form below & copy-and-pasting it to the top of the article page (you can see what they look like on this page). Also, I'd recommend that you look over the Wikipedia:Guide to layout to help with organizing the info in the article.
Take care! --Xiaphias 07:57, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
