Speedy deletion of PlayPark Forums

[edit]

A tag has been placed on PlayPark Forums requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. West Coast, Singapore

[edit]

Hi! I was going to write the article of West Coast but you beat me to it. Anyway, it was a good try but I think you might have to re-write the article on West Coast and you also need to research a bit more because Clementi West, West Coast and West Coast Drive are not just plain HDB housing estates in exclusive, it has quite a number of private landed housing clusters in the areas stretching from West Coast Road (opposite Pandan Gardens) to the cross road junction of West Coast Road/Clementi Road/Pasir Panjang Road.

Under the Singapore's electoral division system before 2006, West Coast Drive is a part of Ayer Rajah ward SMC (please read my article on Teban Gardens and Pandan Gardens). Specifically speaking, West Coast Drive referred to the areas based around HDB flats block No. 501 to 520 and the other private housing estates around Hong Leong Gardens Shopping Center, as well as the industrial heartland south of it from West Coast Crescent/Pandan Loop until the junction of Jalan Buroh and Penjuru Road.

If you try to read it by the NPP system then you might have been mislead because NPP tend to follow constituency's borderline markers than drawing its own. Additionally, Clementi New Town is indeed comprised of all the blocks numbered from 101 to 731 but, electorally, it is divided into four different wards (before the electoral mergers in 2006), namely: Clementi, West Coast, Ayer Rajah and Bukit Timah because different numbered blocks fell under different NPP's jurisdiction.

HDB block No.101-118 at Sunset Way was under Bukit Timah Ward, hence Bukit Timah NPP; blk No.201-458 fell under the boundary of Clementi Ward, hence Clementi NPP; blk No.501-520 at West Coast Drive was part of Ayer Rajah ward, hence Ayer Rajah NPP; and lastly... blk No.601-731 at Clementi West Street 1 & 2 fell under West Coast Ward, hence West Coast NPP. You have to be clear of this when you state this out categorically in the article otherwise it would become very confusing, if not more than what it already is.

Also, there used to stand a Primary school and Secondary School in the Jubilee road section prior to its new users. Namely, they were the Jubilee Primary School (old school building torn down and new building constructed on the same site as Clementi Woods Secondary) and Yusof Ishak Secondary School (building still in use by the International Community School). On top of that, you need to specify that the Japanese Secondary School is one of two Japanese Secondary School in Singapore, the other one is in Changi. They were built by the Japanese Government to cater specifically to the family of their citizens working in Singapore. Henceforth, I would not list them as Public Schools.

In the 1980's, SAF twice conducted it's Open House in West Coast Park (the one nearest to Jin Tai Secondary School) in 1981 and 1982. And the writer - me, I used to enjoy swimming off the waters of that same park then, until PSA started reclamation and construction of Pasir Panjang Terminal.

Thanks for reading and cheers! -- Dave1185 (talk) 20:21, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I can help you a bit here and there but do feel free to ask me things you're not sure of and I'll see what I can remember about Clementi West or West Coast Drive. The reason why I say is because of all the people around me, I got a friend who didn't do well in his Primary 4 streaming exams (we were the first batch in Pandan Primary School when the streaming exam system start in 1983) and was sent to Jubilee Primary School to carry on his study as Primary 5 Mono-lingual. He told me then that Jubilee Primary School was connected to Yusof Ishak Secondary School because YISS's original name was Jubilee Integrated Secondary School in 1965, I also found out that the school was built to serve the many malay kampungs dotted along Pasir Panjang Road area and Jubilee Road was connected to it as a side road before it was renamed West Coast Road (the part starting from the junction of Clementi Road towards Jurong in 1978).
Also, Pasir Panjang Police Sub-station was located near the same junction before it was shut down in 1986 when Pasir Panjang NPP and West Coast NPP started operating. The NPP system started around 1981/2, first in Toa Payoh Police 'B' Division (shut down in 1988) before it was adopted nationwide in Singapore. Clementi Police 'D' Division was originally at the Queenstown station opposite from the Police Task Force/Special Operations Command camp before they move to their new location at Clementi Avenue 5 in 1988.
Have you ever seen a SBS bus with only one door for exit and entry? I did, last time I saw it was in 1982... it comes complete with a driver and bus ticket conductor, service route was 183 - Jurong to New Bridge Road, 25 cents ticket for me then, adult was 40 - 80 cents. Last SBS bus to have a conductor was 170 in 1990 when they started to use the transitlink magnetic card before switching to EZ-Link in 2003. I also remember that feeder bus was only 10 cents per ride in 1978, they up it to 15 cents in 1981 then to 25 cents in 1991 and then to 40 cents in 1997.
Hope this gives you some new information or new found curiousness to work with, cheers! -- Dave1185 (talk) 13:39, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please do your homework first by researching before you post up the article on the page. My data isn't 100% correct, could be a wrong date here and there as well as wrong spelling, you know? -- Dave1185 (talk) 15:04, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Last Princess, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://wiki.d-addicts.com/The_Last_Princess. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion of The Last Princess

[edit]

A tag has been placed on The Last Princess requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. asenine t/c\r (fc: f2abr04) 10:58, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Be humble

[edit]

Do not list those which you do not actively contribute to, are you really that thick skin to tell me that you had made minor edits to both Teban Gardens and Pandan Gardens? I went through the edit history of both pages and found NO SUCH MINOR EDITS as stated by you or your namesake, so do not push these kind of BS into the face of other wikipedians and expect that we would not be able to tell the difference, WE ARE NOT STUPID. --Dave1185 (talk) 22:52, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kindly Note: To avoid further embarassment to yourself further, it's more noteworthy to list those articles that were rightfully created by u, received DYK mention or were promoted to GA status by u primarily. As anyone can view your edit history to date, it pays to be honest for your own good, lest u want to be treated or tagged as a potential sockpuppet or troll, which may lead to your account being blocked next. -- Aldwinteo (talk) 17:34, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is my final advice to you, DO NOT COPY AND PASTE ANYMORE ARTICLES OR IMAGES from anywhere else on the internet and claim it as your own. You have been warned. --Dave1185 (talk) 23:27, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading Image:Westcoastplaza.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Stifle (talk) 11:13, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dude, I think you better warn him against using anon IP address to edit the above-mentioned image with the tag of {{PD|self}}, he did it once before with this image as well as other image he uploaded and he might just do it again before this coming 19 May. --Dave1185 (talk) 20:26, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
