Belgrade

[edit]

Hi Boris!

Unfortunately, I couldn't have any participation in the improvement of the article about Belgrade. But I'm glad to see the progress!

Best regards,

Hej...

Nemezemo vise praviti politicke sablone (Sad Wikipedia pokusava da izbjegne takve sablone).

The Kondor Again

[edit]

Hi: I just listened to the song (which I had heard before, for the record!) and was struck by something. I'm not a native speaker of Serbian -- and for me, it is difficult to recognize accents in spoken Serbian. But, am I right that the song is sung with an exaggerated "American accent"? Just curious. Profnjm 17:44, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is, one of the reasons it's so funny. C-c-c-c 18:06, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I find this excessively attacking. I am leaving a civility/personal attacks warning on the culprits' talk-page. This kind of intimidation is absolutely unacceptable. WerdnaTc@bCmLt 22:07, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Croatophobia/Anti-Croatian sentiment

[edit]

Hi, I notice that you already wanted to nominate the article Anti-Croatian sentiment for deletion. I have done so for Croatophobia, which is on the same subject, and has neologism problems. I feel obliged to let you know that there is a debate going on there. I believe that if the article Croatophobia is to be deleted, Anti-Croatian sentiment should go too. Also, if it is not deleted, these two articles have to be merged, since there is no need for two articles on the same subject. Rockie21 00:43, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gospodine

[edit]

Sta ima veze ako Kosovo dobije nezavisnost. Vec su sve republike (skoro sve...Montenegro) dobile nezavisnost. Nek Kosovo bude sama drzava. Nek i oni imaju svoju drzavu. Ja opet kazem da nemam nista protiv Srba, Hrvata, Albanaca, "Kosovara", etc. Kosovo je pod UN-om, znaci nista lose nemoze da se desi tamo (theoratically, the Bosnian case is a totally differnet story). Sta ce Srbija da gubi ako Kosovo dobije nezavisnost i diskusija oko Kosova nema nista direktno sa BiH-om. Nemogu da mislim da ce to tebi: "change your mind and view".

Come on, why does that have to make me your enemy

Hvala Kseferovic 01:53, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kseferovic 02:38, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
BiH je uvijek bila jedna drzava. Nemozes da kazes drugacije. Ali Srbija i Kosovo se uvijek (Most of 20th century) odvojeno spominju.

Srbi ce mnogo vise dobiti nego i sami Crnogorci odvajanjem Crne Gore. --HolyRomanEmperor 13:34, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Velika Hrvatska

[edit]

Hvala unaprijed. --Dr.Gonzo 17:39, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

U medjuvremenu sam ipak uspio nesto naci, napravio sam novu, detaljniju kartu, ako zelis molim komentiraj na Talk:Greater Croatia. Pozdrav. --Dr.Gonzo 19:17, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ona prijasnja karta bas nije jako korisna u odredjivanju. --Dr.Gonzo 21:28, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, probat cu popraviti, javit cu kad uploadam novu verziju. --Dr.Gonzo 21:31, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Pozdrav. --Dr.Gonzo 22:35, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the issue of Kosovo's sovereignty, it is not a judgement on whether Kosovo should be part of Serbia to state the fact that it is effectively no longer under Serbian control. I know that it is a sensitive matter, but I hope that the distinction between de jure and de facto is of some reassurance to you. In the mean time, I think energies could be better spent in cleaning up the standard of English in the article.--Ahwaz 00:46, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Kosovo is part of Serbia in law. This is a fact. But it is also a fact that Kosovo is under UN administration and as such is out of Serbian control. This is the distinction between de jure and de facto.--Ahwaz 00:53, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi,

Since You admitted (on croatian wikipedia) that changing the montenegrin templates was wrong, can we expect that You will return them to their original state yourself?

I would be very dissapointed if it turns out that admitting the mistake was just a some kind od image-improving attempt from your side.

I believe the templates are already returned, if not, feel free to revert my edits, I will not object. I guess that user templates can't hurt anyone, but I'm still supporting the article Montenegrin language to be changed to Montenegrin dialect, since Montenegrin is not (yet) recognized by any nation, it's not even official in Montenegro. -- serbiana - talk 00:57, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello to you Boris, one small simple question, but first, I see you have a keen interest in your people, Serbs I mean. You care for their interests as though you have part-taken in their activities in Belgrade over the years, and in that sense you do not sound like a member of the old Yugoslav diaspora. That is a compliment and not a doubt upon whether you really live in Canada. Anyhow, just one thing, as someone who has been led to learn so many things, how do you come to be a supporter of George W.Bush? I mean, I know that from an old Yugoslav angle, your people had more support and better rapport with that administartion than with the Clintonites and I know that if Kerry were successful in 2004 then problems would have been more focal again in the Balkans, but surely as a Balkanist, you cannot for the life of you believe ANY kind of polititian ANYWHERE in the world, can you? I thought everyone in Serbia & Montenegro etc. now knew that the whole "move towards the west" was a great farse, subterfuge devized to encourage former enemies to tow the line (obey New World instructions). Is there something about the Bush administartion so good that I, a life-long westerner do not know? Maybe you can throw some light. Celtmist 25 May 2006
I'm supporting George W. Bush for only a few reasons - he gave Serbia billions of dollars in aid; he has supported peacefull negotiations over the status of Kosovo, something the Clinton administration wanted to solve with bombs; he recognized Macedonia by the name of Republic of Macedonia, and not FYROM, and thats enough for me. I don't care much about his Iraq policy, I'm sure the Iraqis didn't care much when Yugoslavia was being bombed in 1999. And, yes, I don't believe any politician anywhere, but Bush did some good things for Serbia, and I support his policy. Granted that it probably isn't his policy, but rather his people doing everything for him (I'm questioning whether he knows how to read a book [4]), but unlike the previous administration, he has done no harm to Serbia, and that is simply the answer to your question. I'm glad you're interested in Serbs, and also Yugoslavs in general. I'm very connected with Serbia, despite the fact that I live in Canada, I visit Serbia every year. I'd like to talk to you some more about Yugoslavs and the SFRY, maybe even try to clarify why that beautiful country fell apart... Hahaha. I ko to kaže da on voli Srbe. Crna Gora (Talk/Contribs/Edit Count) 04:26, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Crna Gora (Talk/Contribs/Edit Count) 04:39, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've actually had to restart his block (meaning that he's now blocked til a week from right now), as he made more personal attacks on his talk page. He's shown me absolutely no signs that he can be respecful of other users, and until I see something to that effect, his block will stand, and he will be reblocked if he does more of the same when he returns. --InShaneee 18:48, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with user EurowikiJ

[edit]

Hi Boris. I noticed you as a very active and experienced wikipedian, and also see that you occasionaly have trouble with some disruptive users (like User:EurowikiJ I am writing you now about). User:EurowikiJ is engaged in many revert wars, in fact he only reverts and never discusses. I have a trouble with him regarding removal of well sourced material from page Tourism_in_Croatia about attacks on tourists from former Yugoslavia (Bosnia, Montenegro, Republika Srpska, Vojvodina, Serbia), that were well sourced, and otherwise simply deletes data he does not like. He even removes warnings from the talk page not to do so. Any help with dealing with this vandal, who refuses to engage in discussion, would be much appreciated. Thanks! Dear Bormalagurski,

Can you please refrain from edits like this one in the Kosovo article: [6] Most wording, as you very well know has been agreed on on the talk page of that article. I will regard any future edits like this acts of vandalism of the article. Cpt. Morgan 13:41, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Advice on personal attacks

[edit]

I strongly advise you not to advise others to ignore advice on refraining from personal attacks. I'd have liked to think that someone who was an admin on another wikipedia would have more regard to the smooth running of this one, than to engage in such conduct. Alai 01:28, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you have evidence of disruption, take it to an appropriate forum; do not use it as attempted justification of personal attacks, or advising others to continue to make personal attacks. I'm not "supporting" Ilir in anything other than his entitlement to be treated with civility, which he shares with all other wikipedians. Alai 04:04, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

sock and meat

[edit]

Hi, Boris

You know, you very often switch from very disruptive behaviour to close to normal. I would like to believe you, but I don't think that will happen before I see longer period of your non-disruptive behaviour. But, it's possible.

I believe You that you don't have any socks at the moment because none of the other users with the same attitude as you doesn't behave as strange and unpredictible as you do. But, I have a strong feeling that You called some people to help You spread Your "ideas" here (so, it's meat-puppetry, not sock-puppetry).

Regarding yoor offer to help me fond out which users are just plain desruptive, I don't really understand what you meant by that. Do you know these people personally?

We Wikipedians hope that irresponsible behaviour of a couple disgusting and manipulative users will stop, as to not further harm other Wikipedians. Those descriptions of piped links, that's supposed to be funny? --Joy [shallot] 22:26, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Josip, if you consider the fact that your country hasn't outlawed fascism funny, I have nothing else to say. -- serbiana - talk 23:28, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This is interesting. I don't know that one can outlaw fascism, per se. Serbia hasn't, and there are parties in Serbia that qualify as radically right wing (probably a better way of putting it than 'fascist'). Unless you are using a definition of 'fascism' that is quite restrictive. Democracy, though, allows for quirky expressions like fascism. Tanager 02:25, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I also think your "links" are a bit infantile. Tanager 02:25, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Do you guys realize that you've just wasted time talking to a user who has left Wikipedia, and only drops by to check his messages? Talk about infantile... -- serbiana - talk 03:09, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, ok, but it did seem like you were responding. I didn't think taking part was infantile. However, if I linked to you and called you a fat sex-addicted fascist whore, that would be infantile. Enjoy your retirement, or whatever you call it when you only check messages.Tanager 03:46, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
