MARPA

[edit]

There are so many issues with this article.

  • Your website says Copyright © 2008-2009 Modification and Replacement Parts Association. All rights reserved. As a user, you are authorized only to view, copy, print, and distribute documents on this Web site so long as (1) the document is used for informational purposes only, and (2) any copy of the document (or portion thereof) includes the following copyright notice: Copyright © 2008-2009 Modification and Replacement Parts Association. All rights reserved. This is incompatible with the GFDL licence required for Wikipedia articles, so material cannot be copied from the website without documentation.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article talk page.
  • Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at the article’s talk page with a link to the web page details.
  • Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement.
  • Secondly, the article is written like an advertisement, not a neutral encyclopaedia article. Just one example is PMA companies are eager to work cooperatively with aviation authorities to improve air travel safety by providing reliable replacement parts at reasonable prices. If you make claims, they should supported by independent verifiable sources, preferably as in-line citations. You have a conflict of interests through being too close too the subject, and this has resulted in a promotional document, not an article.
  • You need to make it clear how MARPA meets the notability guidelines, again with appropriate references.
  • Incidentally, if you rewrite, you should make it clear what country the article is about - I had to read through most of the article before it became clear that MARPA is US based - there are other countries out there.

I hope this helps jimfbleak (talk) 07:28, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I copyedited the text, note in particular that refs immediately follow punctuation and the article name should not appear in headings. I think that the article still reads as pro-MARPA, despite some pruning of POV by me, but it's much better than before, so I'll leave it to others to decide whether it's neutral enough jimfbleak (talk) 06:55, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on MARPA (Modification and Replacement Parts Association) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 08:22, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
