Your contributed article, Perjorative words

[edit]

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Perjorative words. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Taunt. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Taunt - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. MuffledThud (talk) 00:26, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Irina Irvine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Speedy deletion declined

[edit]

I have declined to speedily delete this article. Per WP:CSD#A7, the article certainly asserts significance, a lower standard than notability. Based on his career and the number of 3rd party sources that have written about him, I believe sufficient notability is asserted that if anyone desires deletion, the matter should be discussed at WP:AFD to fully evaluate the subject and that 3rd party coverage. Cheers, and happy editing. Dlohcierekim 18:00, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to the page In Depth. Blank pages can confuse readers, and are overall not helpful to the Wikipedia project; furthermore, blanking a page is not the same as deleting it.

If the article you blanked is a duplicate of another article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate revision. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please use the appropriate deletion process. The article Stephen Charles Jaffe has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable producer lacking GHits and GNEWS. Appears to fail WP:BIO and WP:CREATIVE.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ttonyb (talk) 19:34, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article George Englund has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. ALI nom nom 14:45, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A Great Comment

[edit]

This is something interesting. Before I started editing z channel page, i found a website on the web, has to do with subject Playboy magazine and actually anyone who has written for the mag. Interestingly enough, why is there still fans of Playboy? Because even though its libertarian(as documented on wikipedia page "Playboy") I found many different novelists, short short story writers and the like. Plus writers, men and women, who took their lives(some). And thats not even including Richard Brooks and the Playmates, although alot of them drugged themselves out of existence. There was even Fox News idiots in the magazine. Point is: why read Playboy? (By the way www.wonderclub.com is the website with the writers from the mag. I wouldn't buy the magazines, only use the info about the writers and read about their dastardly lives by using wikipedia biographies!(Here's one: Arthur Koestler and wife took their lives; and Anne Sexton and Hunter S. Thompson and Spalding Gray! By the way, these names are not people, "their dead"!)(Booktv28 (talk) 01:14, 30 April 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Editing Style

[edit]

Why are you editing articles one or two letters at a time (as you're doing right now with The philospher's diet? It makes it very difficult for others to see what the eventual result of your articles will be. I have to say that I honestly can't think of any technical or editorial reason for doing in 20 edits what you could do in 1. Especially since the article currently contains nothing to establish the notability of the topic. If you have questions about how to do this, or about what notability means, feel free to ask here or on my talk page.Qwyrxian (talk) 14:26, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, this is an encyclopedia article that we are writing, not a promotional blurb. Per WP:LEAD, the first sentence needs to lay out why the subject is notable. Per WP:NOT / WP:ADVERT / WP:NPOV / WP:V the remainder of the content needs to describe in a neutral point of view the detials of his life/career/accomplishments as published in reliable third party sources. DO NOT add / return unsourced claims about this living person without providing appropriate citations. Active Banana (talk) 18:14, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not add your personal opinion and interpretations to articles. Commentary must be sourced to published third party reliable sources. Active Banana (talk) 19:22, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. Continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Victory (novel), without resolving the problem that the template refers to may be considered vandalism. Hello Booktv28! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag.
