Re: Username
It's really not our job to go around placing the template on user pages belonging to users with bad names, because they should be blocked before that's done, and blocking can only be done by an administrator. If you're really concerned, you can try the Administrator's noticeboard. And here's a tip: you shouldn't really archive discussions on your talk page that are still active (like this one), because it can get confusing when threads are not posted together. Se this page for more information. Cheers, Tangotango 14:47, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'd love to block that user, but I'm hesitant because the word "Mofo" can be interpretated as something else that doesn't involve profanity. I will ask some fellow admins for their opinions before taking action. (And neat thing about the birthdays, huh? Here's something even more neat: my brother's best friend's little brother shares the same birth month, date, year and HOUR with me. Crazy. :) ) -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 04:24, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Birthday
I was born around 12pm Hong Kong time. I'm not sure what that is in UTC though. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 22:29, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Your Signature
I noticed your signature, but I think that I should point out that the f

Question
Hello, I am newbie here...can I center some words? If I can, how to do it?
Regards from Warsaw! Gacek91 17:10, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Another question then: Can I center userboxes? If yes, what should I use?<center> </center> does not work when I'm trying to do that.
Regards! Gacek91 17:26, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Re: Userboxes
First of all thank you for the barnstar! I will put it on my awards page. :) Secondly, it is cool we are both tweleve. You used to live in Atlanta you say? Thirdly, the code in userboxes makes them left aligned, but in your setup putting <center> tags around your groups of userboxes makes them centred. ―Linux|erist 19:13, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
RfA thanks!
Thanks for voting! Hello Booksworm/Archive 2, and thank you so much for voting in my recent RfA. I am pleased to inform you that it passed with a final tally of (119/1/3), into the WP:100, so I have now been cleared for adminship and will soon be soaring above the clouds. I was overjoyed, shocked, and humbled by the tally, and, most importantly, all the support. Thank you. If there is ever anything you need, you know where you can find me. Take care. |

Thanks for the welcome
Hello! Just want to say thanks for the welcome. I do have one question I thought of while walking home the other day though! How is an article treated that is editted "simultaneous".
i.e at 6PM I start during major revisions on "Juggling With Four Balls". At 6:15 another person starts doing minor grammar/spelling corrections. At 6:16 I send in my major revisions. At 6:17 they send in their minor revisions. What happens!!
A reply on my user page would be great, thanks :)

Thanks for the vandalism move...
Since all the pages are blank anyway, it's easy to get confused. I appreciate the back coverage! -- Steven Fisher 19:11, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Tip of the day project update
Just trying to get things better organized around there. Toward that end, I've created a task list template for the project. If all the members of the project placed it on their user page, we could all keep in touch more easily (with announcements, alerts, etc.). It, and the latest announcements can be found at:

i think so.
like this? thanks for the tip.
as for the edit, what kind of source would have that fact recorded? i know it for a fact because i live in Ottawa and go to Major's Hill often, but i don't want to start an edit war or something, surely the policies here are lenient in a case like this?

Template Help
I need to tag an image which shows the Swiss President, but there isn't a tag for images made by the Swiss Government. What should I use?
Booksworm Talk to me! 10:48, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- While the US Government has a 'anything done by us is public domain' law, basically no other countries do. I have no idea if the Swiss Govt does (maybe that's why there is no template). You will have to choose a correct licence or get the image deleted. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags.--Commander Keane 11:11, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Which page are you planning to use the image in ? There is a good chance that you may use it under fair use; I have been doing that for images in Talk:List of members of the Swiss Federal Council/newtable. I have already asked the Swiss Government for permission to use their images, but until know, they have only allowed "no commercial use, no modification", but I am going to try again. Alternatively, for a simple portrait without any real creativity, there is a good chance that the image may be in the public domain in Switzerland (see Copyright law of Switzerland), but we cannot really count on this. Schutz 12:55, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I forgot to mention that the Parliament allowed me to use all of their images without restrictions. This is why we have such nice images in the article Bundeshaus and on commons. Schutz 13:09, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
