Thankyou very much for doing the translation for this page Bogdan; I really appreciate it. Regards Buckshot06 (talk) 23:56, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The template? It was Mrg3105's idea but I created it a week or so ago. One question - do you think the Maritime Group of Forces should be delisted or linked from 1 FE Front? Once that is answered it can be rolled out across all the Front articles I think. Buckshot06 (talk) 00:23, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Bogdan. If you're able to, and when you've got time, it'd be great to get a translation of ru:8-й Эстонский стрелковый корпус. No rush, but it would be really great to have. Thanks again. Buckshot06 (talk) 05:56, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

postage stamp

[edit]

I knew I had seen it somewhere. No doubt some modern groups would make interesting conclusions about Red Army and Poles (Western Ukrainians?) from it.--mrg3105 (comms) ♠06:01, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Bohdane,

Thanks for helping fix that link on my page - I just noticed it now. (I don't really spend too much time there) Horlo (talk) 07:16, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notes vs refs

[edit]

I never used separate syntax so, I am not familiar with the note_label workaround. Hence, a question. Do I understand correctly that if the current notes are labeled as a, b, c, e and I want to add a new note later in the text than 'a' but before 'b', I would have to label my new note as 'b' and relabel the rest of them moving them one letter down? --Irpen 21:19, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's correct. But don't forget the double notes, they too need to be re-labelled accordingly. Bogdan що? 01:18, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's very inconvenient but I guess this is a media-wiki's fault rather than anyone else's. Thanks for heads up. --Irpen 02:21, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reverts

[edit]

Please don't just revert such encyclopedic information about Ukraine as this. It can be added to the article, I would say the "History" section, rather than just deleted. Ostap 02:32, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. I hope you didn't take that seriously. Are you going to propose Ukraine for WP:FA? Ostap 19:25, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No not yet, the article still needs some work. The biggest problem is probably the size, 100kb+ is simply too much. I'll get back to work on it in a few days. Regards, Bogdan що? 01:13, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Genocides in history

[edit]

You recently removed HOLODOMOR from the list of genocides attributed to the Soviet Union. How do reconcile this with the recognion by your government (Ukraine) that the HOLODOMOR was a genocide? Bobanni (talk) 16:36, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Translations

[edit]

Hi Bogdan! Hope everything is well with you. If you have some time spare, it'd be really good to get translations of ru:41-я армия (СССР), and if you feel the inclination, ru:33-я армия (СССР). Cheers, Buckshot06 (talk) 22:03, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Motorways map

[edit]

Bogdan, thanks for creating this map Image:Ukraine motorways en.PNG. I noticed an error, which I was going to fix myself, but don't know exactly how, so thought I'd ask you. Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine is missing from the map, but there are two Vinnytsias. Can you fix this whenever you get a chance, and reupload the new map? Best regards, --Riurik(discuss) 04:16, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Riurik, good to hear from you. Thanks for reporting to mistake, I've fixed it. If you come across any more errors, just correct them in MS Paint. Regards, Bogdan що? 02:39, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Victory Day!

[edit]

Dear Bogdan, 63 years ago this month we (Br/US/Can/Aust/NZ/USSR/Poland/etc) defeated the Nazi aggressors!! I'm sending good wishes to my Eastern collaborators today, and especially, thanks for the two translations of 8th RC and 41st Army. Really appreciated! Ukrainian Ranks

[edit]

I think that we should rework the ranks pages. Before I started changing anything I wanted to know if you wanted to update them since it was you who created them, if not I will start on them. I also think that army and air force pages should be merged since there is no difference between the ranks.

Hello Ceriy. I agree with your merge proposal, and I will create a page (similar to Military ranks of the Soviet Union) of the navy, army and air force. The only reason separate articles were created was to illustrate the actual shoulder boards of each rank, and since the images have been deleted there's probably no reason to keep the three different articles. Once I'm done, feel free to update the articles as you wish. Bogdan що? 00:30, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. It would mean a lot to me if you could help make an argument on the talk of the city template of the United Kingdom. I know that you are interested in the way these templates work and are interested in keeping them (to some extent) standard. Please make an argument on Template talk:United Kingdom cities#Consensus if you are intended on keeping some standards here. Please make a statement here and thank you very much. — NuclearVacuum 18:10, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Black Sea Shipyard

[edit]

Thanks for your help on the Black Sea Shipyard. I've been slowly trying to put together Ukrainian shipyard articles... I welcome your suggestions, too! Thanks ~ chiefhuggybear (talk) 03:22, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the words of encouragement you placed on my talk page! I've really enjoyed researching this topic. In the beginning, I was very confused because the shipyards have been renamed so many times over the years but -- it has been a labor of love. Romanization of names from Russian and Ukraine cyrllic was also confusing but User:irpen has been a great help. In a couple of days after I get more details added, I will make an announcement on the Ukraine portal.
Information that I would like to include might be the economic impact of the shipyards to the surrounding area, cultural influences, and some labor force details. Where did they get ALL that skilled labor? Where did they train? Maybe this is an area you could help me with or get the right people involved.
Lastly, I will work with he military and naval history groups to make sure all of the various classes of ships that were constructed are linked back to the correct shipyard.
Thanks again! ~ chiefhuggybear (talk) 20:49, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help!

[edit]

Hello. I was looking through Marianivka (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log)'s image uploads and I saw that you'd fixed some. I don't read Ukrainian, so I wonder if you can help me out with some stuff. Quite a few of Marianivka's uploads seem rather doubtful. I was wondering what the copyright policy is at http://www.spotters.net.ua because there are images from there and I'm not inclined to believe that Marianivka is "FL" and "Vladimir Kalinin" and others. Thanks in advance! Angus McLellan (Talk) 21:49, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ukraine article

[edit]

In the sport section, this paragraph - Other sports are also popular in Ukraine. Boxers Vitali Klitschko and Wladimir Klitschko have held heavyweight world champion titles. Ukraine has an ice hockey league and a national ice hockey team. They also have a basketball league, and cricket clubs. - should be deleted.--Miyokan (talk) 14:37, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
