Peer Review Basin Article

[edit]

Hi Bryan. Looks like your article is still under construction (so is mine...) but you are off to a solid start and there is some good info here. I think that the into could use a good grammar review, along with a location map of the general area and outline of your basin. i would also provide a better general description of the basin here, i.e. basin type, age, size, depth, thickness of fill...general stats. good to state that up front so it is in the readers mind as they read the more specific sections. i would put that info after the first sentence. also would move the bit about gas production to the very end of the intro

I would consider merging the Tectonic Phases section into the Geologic History section. there seems to be some redundancy between the two, and consolidation could make for easier reading. The wording is somewhat cumbersome in both sections so perhaps clean it up to be a little more concise. this is also in need of a good graphic, perhaps a plate map.

I would consider adding "Sedimentary" to the Main Formations Header. Obviously the last three formations need to be completed. you could provide more specific information such as depositional environment, age, formation lateral extent and thickness and how that varies across the basin. perhaps try to tie that to the tectonic event history. this section also needs a graphic. i would consider a generalized strat column

I would give the entire article a grammar review before finalizing.Brianmatthewvosburg (talk) 17:20, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
