Rovers article

[edit]

Thanks for adding the additional, but generally one can not cut and past copies of websites into articles as it would violate Wikipedias copyright provisions. The text in question is from http://www.shamrockrovers.ie/squad_2006.html and is copyrighted by club, in order for wikipedia to use the text the permission must be given directly from the club being explicit in that wikipedis is allowed to use the text, otherwise wikipedia could be in violation of the clubs copyright on the text. Please review Wikipedia:Copyright and Wikipedia:Copyright FAQ for more information. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 05:53, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Humm i missed that part, but it does state that the note applies to programme editors, and being that were not publishing programs it would still be in the best to seek permission or at the least seek a clarification of the language to see that if a site such as this would be acceptable for the republishment of the information. Also if they were to allow the information to be republished the best way to do it would not be to include it all in the rovers articles but to create separate articles for the players, you might want to take a look at some the EPL clubs like Everton F.C., Arsenal F.C., and Tottenham Hotspur F.C. for what club articles should be striving for, though i am not expecting any of the Irish teams to ever get to the complexity of those articles. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 02:46, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You added some references regarding this band to my talk page. However, I was looking for reliable sources from external media (newspapers, magazines, etc.) so it can be distinguished from any other garage band. See WP:BAND for details. Fagstein 07:14, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Plotter Room

[edit]

So did you write that little graffito ("I am made of Shamrocks") in the plotter room? (a5y) >No? Oh well. Guess that means there's still a shapeshifting shamrock monster on the loose. With a biro. (AGAIN) (a5y 14:09, 14 April 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Sack 4.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sack 4.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:41, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Image:Shamrock rovers Squad 2006.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Shamrock rovers Squad 2006.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
