Into the gates

[edit]

Greetings! Looking at your username, it appears that you have created an article, Into the gates, about a novel you have written. If this assessment is incorrect, please provide links to independent reliable sources such as reviews of the book and newspaper and magazine stories about it. Otherwise, the article is subject to deletion. —C.Fred (talk) 05:29, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I would like to know what is needed to prevent deletion? The book has yet to be published and the only available sources are those of the author himself.

If the book has yet to be published, then it is not a notable book and should not have an article about it. Only after it has been published—and then after it's won an award or been the subject of multiple reviews from highly-regarded reviewers—would it be eligible for an article. Additionally, using the author as a source is original research, which is not allowed in Wikipedia articles. —C.Fred (talk) 06:06, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Into the gates has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable book lacking GHits and GNEWS of substance. Appears to fail WP:NOTBOOK.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ttonyb (talk) 05:32, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
