Dates in Wikipedia articles

Two date formats are commonly used in Wikipedia articles: December 2, 2009 and 2 December 2009. These are referred to as alphanumeric dates. The first is used in articles with a connection to the United States, and the second in articles relating to most Commonwealth countries (although no preference is expressed for Canada). In articles with no particular national affiliation, to prevent needless edit warring, the established date format should not be changed. However any given article should use just one of the two formats consistently. Dates that are all numeric are highly discouraged to avoid confusion, however if used must be in the YYYY-MM-DD format and never in YYYY-DD-MM format.

A tag has been placed on Black Jaguar White Tiger requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://blackjaguarwhitetiger.org/faq/#1498495565101-6e4a41cc-a9d4. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — IVORK Discuss 23:12, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

G'day,

Wikipedia is stylized as an encyclopedia and as such avoids words and phrasing that involves we or our other than when used in direct quotes as much as possible. As doing such makes it very eay to not inclued a neutral point-of-view. Additonally, for external links, in the main body of the article they are never to be used for linking in order to explain something such as linking the website of a buisness to show what it is. Only for references using <ref> </ref> tags to support claims already in the text. For explaining subjects / buisnesses internal links to other Wikipedia articles are used. Additionally I have proposed the article for deletion as it involves large amount of text copied from the [blackjaguarwhitetiger.org blackjaguarwhitetiger.org] website which is notes it is under Copyright 2017 Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation. Additionally on that, your username and wording of the article implies that you have a connection, potentially as an employee of the company. Not only is it strongly advised against writing articles about yourself as it is a [WP:COI|conflict of interest]], but additionally you aren't allowed to have a Wikipedia account that acts officailly as an entity / may be shared. — IVORK Discuss 23:54, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

August 2017

[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Bishonen | talk 06:24, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
