You edited the article by removing the mention of the Priory of Sion. I believe that your removal is based on POINT OF VIEW, no? Godfrey of Bouillon 14:00, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reverting it back. He's been a jerk all day long here with his stupid little edit wars. Kingjeff 22:46, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greatest Cricketer

[edit]

Please read WP:V if you havn't already. The article is aiming for featured status which means that nothing in the article can fail to pass WP:V. The standards for the lead para have to be particularly rigorous. Bradman IS to my mind the greatest cricketer ever, and it may in fact be true but that simply doesn't matter. What matters is what can be verirified, NOT TRUTH. There is no serious source that says anyone, ever, was a better batsman, but there are many creditable sources - Cricinfo and Wisden for 2 that at times put forward creditable alternatives for the greatest cricketer - usually WG and Sobers. Whilst my opinion - and yours come to that - does not matter that of people like Greg Chappel does. He rated Sobers just last week the greatest cricketer ever so no claim that Bradman is the greatest CRICKETER can be universal. Without the universal acceptance the sentence loses much of its import. In addition such a strong claim cannot stand without a cite, particularly in the lead. It is policy that exceptional claims require exceptional evidence. By all means add it to the body with a fact or cite needed tag, but please don't try and put it in the lead without a cite as it detracts from the article. Remember, verifiablity from a reliable source, not truth is what's needed. --LiamE 18:25, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
