Help
[edit]Greetings Bilocate!
As requested here is some help. Please follow these steps:
- Click upload file in the toolbox at left.
- Assuming you have saved the picture somewhere, click browse and select that picture from your documents.
- Choose a name for your picture(in destinaion filename)
- Paste this in:
{{Information |Description= |Source= |Date= |Author= |Permission= |other_versions= }}
where Description is what it is, Source: give a weblink or a statement like "own work", Date, self-explanatory, Author, again self-explanatory and permission, worded and cited if you are not the author. Other versions is optional.
- Now click licensing and choose the option from links. You can release it into free domain or copyright it and allow use on Wikipedia. For your situatuion I would use either "The copyright owner only allows this work to be used for educational..." or release it using GNU or Creative Commons.
Hope that helps! If you would like more help, feel free to contact me at my talk page.
Happy Editing,

I DID it but now its still saying our page as an advertisment, will i dont know what to do but its a normal page with the band's information.
how can you help me in that?
- That's called a tag. Don't worry, you're notable so it won't get deleted. The tag is just notifying editors that this page needs some help. However, you might like to read Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:Manual of style. Basicly, you need to avoid words that promote the image of the band (eg awesome, great, very talented etc), just the facts please. We want:
- The history of the band(please be brief)
- Their albums and singles
- Members
- Style(be very careful here)
Remember, this is an encyclopedia. We're looking for good, easily accessible information. To make searching the information easier use two equal signs on each side of the headings to make a header. Click "show preview" to see what you have done without saving. When you're done fill in the little box with a brief description of what you have done, then click save.
Don't forget to sign your posts with four tildes(~). If you need anymore help just contact me. Happy Editing! YuanchosaanSalutations! 08:32, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know very much about your band, so I'm being very careful around there. Can you please tell me the information and I'll try to help? I'm not trying to discourage you, but it is generally frowned upon to create and edit articles about yourself or people/companies that you are emotionally or personally involved with(except to revert vandalism, remove incorrect information, cite etc). Please contact me soon. Happy Editing! YuanchosaanSalutations! 07:24, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi Yuanchosaan
this is Ramzi Essayed, Vocal and Front man of BILOCATE (www.Bilocate.net) i noticed that someone changed our wikipedia page and filled it with wrong information and in fact its a direct insult for the band and its history even posted funny things to make fun of the band ... a lot of ppl might hate us for being successful but i never imagined that wikipedia will allow such a thing... its an official page for BILOCATE a very well known and reputed band from the middle east and its page cannot be changed like this and by anyone.
this is a major issue and i remembered that you helped me before a long time in editing the page so i will appreciate it if you helped me now to know the user who did it as all i could see is the IP address and help me to make it more secure.
to check my info ill be glad to call you on the phone or any other way of checking.
Regards, Ramzi
Re: Question
[edit]Hi. Responding to your question on your userpage- as said above, by following those instructions you can upload an image. To put them onto a page, click the "Edit this page" button and fine where in the article you want to insert the image. There, place [[Image:NAME OF IMAGE HERE.png|thumb|ALIGNMENT- right or left, or float|Image caption goes here]]. The "thumb" part of the markup makes the image into a thumbnail, the alignment helps you choose which side of the page the image should be on- usually right- and then you can insert a suitable image caption. I hope that helped, otherwise there's more information at WP:IMAGES, or you can ask me on my talk page. Cheers- CattleGirl talk | sign! | review me 09:43, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- OK then please keep an eye on the page and tell me if anything needs to be done or do it if you feel its necceseray because i dont think i can do it as good as you, i deleted the picture in the middle is it ok to have it back?
- basiclly all i want is to have a page about BILOCATE there not an advertisment as we already have a huge exposure over the net.
- thanks for the help/
- You're welcome. I'll be watching the page, and I just re-wrote it and removed the advertisement tag. If you were wondering about this tag, you might want to look at WP:NPOV to avoid more tags like this being placed on the page in the future. When I re-wrote it I may have made some mistakes- I don't think I have, but could you look at that? Cheers- CattleGirl talk | sign! 10:25, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Welcome
[edit]I see you've not recieved a welcome- sorry about that.

Duplicate images uploaded
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Bilocate SDS 2007.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:BILOCATE-2007.jpg. The copy called Image:BILOCATE-2007.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 08:45, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Notability of Dark oriental metal
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Dark oriental metal, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Dark oriental metal seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Dark oriental metal, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. File source problem with File:Bilocate 2008.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Bilocate 2008.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:42, 28 February 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 06:42, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Bilocate 2006 Days of Joy promo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Bilocate 2006 Days of Joy promo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 04:48, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
