Hello, Billybowden211. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions! I'm W.carter, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.
Some pages of helpful information to get you started:
  Introduction to Wikipedia
  The five pillars of Wikipedia
  Editing tutorial
  How to edit a page
  Simplified Manual of Style
  The basics of Wikicode
  How to develop an article
  How to create an article
  Help pages
  What Wikipedia is not
Some common sense Dos and Don'ts:
  Do be bold
  Do assume good faith
  Do be civil
  Do keep cool!
Do maintain a neutral point of view
  Don't spam
  Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
  Don't commit vandalism
  Don't get blocked
If you need further help, you can:
  Ask a question
or you can:
  Get help at the Teahouse
or even:
Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page, and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles

  Perform maintenance tasks
Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates

Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.

The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to History of the Romani people, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions.
Do not change sourced content with the intention of misrepresenting the sources in order to promote your own WP:POV. This is known as tendentious editing.

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at History of the Romani people. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Iryna Harpy (talk) 03:07, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A summary of some site policies and guidelines you need to observe

[edit]

Iryna Harpy is not going to be banned for asking you to demonstrate on the article's talk page that the source cited does not support "and now Pakistan." Iryna's edits were not vandalism as Wikipedia defines it. If you continue to remove "and now Pakistan," your actions can be interpreted as edit warring, which could lead to you being blocked. Stop icon This is your only warning; if you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced defamatory content into an article or any other Wikipedia page again, as you did at Katrina Kaif, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Images

[edit]

Please don't upload images of living people. They will almost always end up being deleted. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 22:55, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Images of living people must be free. It's all pretty much covered in Wikipedia:Image use policy. The ones you see in other living people will be free images. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 23:18, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Most of it is covered at Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright especially Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright#Can I add something to Wikipedia that I got from somewhere else?. Basically the page that the image is hosted on must state that the image is free to use. Look at Creative Commons license#Types of licenses the second box shows the type of free images. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 23:34, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately as the image isn't free I can't upload it either. In fact because I know what the rules are I would be in a lot of trouble if I did. In your case you are not in trouble as it was just a error. Sooner or later someone will find a free image and upload it. Don't worry about the article not being authentic as there are plenty of articles missing images. The important thing is to have sources for the article. By the way there is no need for the sources to be in English. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 23:55, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Important work.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
