There are a number of banks that aren't in British ownership in that list. Bank of Ireland is there mainly because historically it's one of the main banks in Ireland *as a whole* - and so today it still has its own Sterling Banknotes in Northern Ireland.

If you think it should be removed, many other banks will need removed from the list too. Northern Bank for example, is owned by Danske Bank.

Hey Bill. I don't mind that we disagree over this issue, but I do mind being called dumb. Please don't do that again. Thanks. --Guinnog 08:20, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for editing the Dannii Minogue article, but I do not think that the reference that you added to the article in support of the Puss 'N Boots controversy is a legitimate website that can be trusted. I have again reverted your edit because of this. If you have any questions please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Thanks. -- Underneath-it-All 19:03, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another Civility Note

[edit]

Many of the edits done in good faith are incorrect. Still, putting something like "utter nonesense" as an edit reason (you deleted Porject Afghanistan from the Battle of Tours) is rude, pointless, and does nothing to encourage our new editors. Granted, that project had no possible connection to the Battle of Tours article, still, your complete incivility is going to get you kicked off wikipedia. When people try, and make mistakes, just tell them, civilly, and lose the attitude of impatient superiority. Stillstudying 14:09, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You removed at least one edit of mine, by reverting with the edit summary "Revert a Whole way back to good version". I have fixed the formatting error you were trying to fix with your revert. --Guinnog 17:37, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New graph in Down syndrome

[edit]

Hello. I noticed the new graph you put into the Down syndrome article. It's much more clear and easier to read than the old one, not to mention more recent too. While I realize you placed a citation into the image itself, I hope you won't mind if I ask you to include a footnote in the article itself using WP:FOOT and citation templates so that our citations are all in one place and to a standardized format. Thanks!—Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 18:44, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:MAGNERSLOGO.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MAGNERSLOGO.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:20, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:AMSTELLOGO.PNG. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:50, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Fair use disputed for Image:AMSTELLOGO.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AMSTELLOGO.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:57, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:SONS_AND_LOVERS.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:SONS_AND_LOVERS.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 07:49, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Aloisiuskolleg.GIF

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aloisiuskolleg.GIF. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 00:05, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
