2009 Richmond High School gang rape
I used a reference which shows that race is an issue. 7 Hispanics rape a Caucasian girl brutally, inserting objects into her and stomping her while other Hispanics watched for hours without helping her. You say that race doesnt matter. Duke Lacrosse article has race everywhere. Did race matter there just because the girl wasnt white? I am not following your logic. Go to the Duke article and take out all the references to race out of it, or allow me to to indicate race in this high school rape case. LA Times is a respected newspaper, not a tabloid or a conservative mouthpiece and they mentioned race. Why cant we do this here?Meishern (talk) 16:30, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- However horrifying the deeds, there is nothing in any source, to my knowledge, to show that they happpened because of a racial issue, merely that different "races" were involved. To make distinctions based on skin colour is to (a) provide more information by which the victim may be identified (b) make an issue where there is none, and thus give the matter undue weight. If you disagree, I suggest you take this to the talk page of the article. As for the Duke lacrosse case, that's also a matter for the talk page of the article, though my memory of it is that race was at least alleged to have been a significant factor.
