Nomination of Byron Cole for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Byron Cole is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Byron Cole until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Hitro talk 07:13, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There is no clear consensus. It was a soft-delete. Bhivuti45 (talk) 19:53, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Allegiant (finance services) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

An article about a claim management company, without a clear claim to notability. The references in the article show the company being quoted in the wider payday lending context(from which notability is not inherited), but not specific coverage of this company itself. There is also a critical investigation in The Sun about high charges [1] but again not specific coverage about the company. Fails WP:NCORP.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Pudgy Penguins, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. While it was created months back and multiple editors were already engaged and reviewed already it's directly a personal attack on an editor. DIVINE 02:04, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think you need to revisit the policies yourself to understand it better. If you are so confident that the page you created is a notable topic then you shouldn't be worrying submitting it to AfC. Bhivuti45 (talk) 09:07, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
While it was already reviewed and multiple editors has contributed send it back to AFC with false accusations is unproductive and distruptive behavior. You should have come to my talk page to ask or should have started the discussion on the page talk page first to get clearity. The previous editor which added coi tag themselves had violated wikipedia policies. Furthermore, they mentioned that some articles looks like payment which they were referring maybe the news articles but when i created page by researching on google and reviewing WP:RS sources and most of the sources themselves were written by staffs and senior staffs. You could have done AFD instead of moving to draft which is irrelevant. Wikipedia doesn’t work with personal assumptions and looking at your history we can see that you were accused and had previously involved on paid editing and you never mentioned it and didn’t even responded to three users. Meatpuppetry

[edit]

I saw that your last edit was on January 18, 2024, and suddenly you arrived here, moved the page to draftspace without even checking, and sent me an WP:PAID where i clearly stated that it wasn't. Secondly, i had dsiclosed my paid editing before so i wouldn't have any issue to disclose something new further because i am well aware with wikipedia policy and guidelines. Thirdly, Like you filed an SPI against me which you never did before and maybe or maybe not someone asked you, to do so please check [2] and assume good faith instead of personal attacks. While you can file multuiple AFD and Multiple SPI per wikipedia policy if you feel i am suspect of Sockpuppetry but i wonder how come you came and file just after another user gets blocked and about paid editing 4 years back and admin asked you to disclose and stop editing further unless or untill you disclose but you ignored them and you are sending me UPE and COI notice based on your personal assumptions which need to be discussed further, has to be proved. While you can draftiy new articles before reviewing and while reviewing, you cannot move it to draftspace without discussing or providing evidence that i am involved here or i created as paid editor.DIVINE 02:12, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you believe I am doing meatpuppetry then open a case at SPI instead of trying hard to hide your undisclosed paid editing. The nature of your edits make it clear that you are violating Wikipedia's terms & conditions. Bhivuti45 (talk) 09:06, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
SPI and meatpupetry are different things and as i mentioned above i have already disclosed my paid editing before and i would have disclosed further too but your personal accusation seems like an personal attack & the articles which you told were paid editing were not paid editing if it would have been i would have disclosed in my user profile i wouldn’t run away and ignore a discussion when someone ask me about it. Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.
