License tagging for File:Next - New York's Gay Guide front cover.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Next - New York's Gay Guide front cover.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:05, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Aphex Twin: Windowlicker
[edit]Hello Beyoncetan. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Aphex Twin: Windowlicker, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. See WP:CSD#R for valid speedy-deletion criteria for redirects. Otherwise, WP:Redirects for discussion should be used, see WP:RFD#HARMFUL for advice on when redirects should or should not be deleted. JohnCD (talk) 10:52, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
- No, WP:CSD#A11 does not apply either. There is no evidence that this was invented by the author, and the only speedy criteria that apply to redirects are WP:CSD#R2 and WP:CSD#R3. Even if the redirect seems useless to you, others may find it useful: the traffic statistics show this getting more than one hit a day on average. JohnCD (talk) 11:03, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Kylie Minogue - Greatest Hits- 87–97 cover.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution
[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Alizée into Moi... Lolita. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 22:18, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

Tokyo Square
[edit]I thank you for your comprehensive edits in Tokyo Square. So I think it is the most opportune time as a well-informed enthusiast of the band that you are... For me Tokyo Square is lovingly known for it's version of "That Is Love", probably not their own song, but certainly their version is one of the most loved. Yet I don't find any mention of the huge success of "That Is Love" on the Wikipedia page. Here is the song I am referring to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPuPMK0BKFg which I dedicate to you for your excellent work on the page. werldwayd (talk) 19:09, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. Yes I love Tokyo Square and many of the songs I associate with Tokyo Square. I am also surprised "That Is Love" is not on a Tokyo Square album although https://vi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Square thinks it is. By the way, I don't know if we should mention on the English page that Tokyo Square is a "one-hit wonder" band. I think they have more than one significant hit. It's just that "Within You'll Remain" is so prominent the rest become less known. I think the "one hit wonder" note in our article should be removed. Plus, since Max Surin has so much solo work, I think he should have a separate article and not just a redirect like https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Max_Surin&redirect=no It is an opportune time for you to do this article about Max. You have a lot of stuff on Tokyo Square page, so you can move many of the materials there to that new page and leave a summary on Tokyo Square page. werldwayd (talk) 20:42, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
- Again thanks for the updates. I guess the Max Surin redirect page we have will be enough to generate enough attention to what is mentioned about him on the Tokyo Square page as Surin has a distinctive voice. Also clearly the TS Wikipedia page is far more comprehensive and accurate now thanks to your edits there. werldwayd (talk) 22:16, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Beyoncetan. Thanks for all your work at Basement Jaxx vs. Metropole Orkest. I was wondering what was your rationale for deleting the YouTube link from "External links", as you left no edit summary. These days YouTube are pretty efficient in protecting copyright and take videos down if there is any claim of copyright infringement. In this case the clip was one officially posted by Metropole Orkest. So I was a little baffled. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:58, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Martinevans123: Oh hey hey! I'm truly glad that you like my current work! Well, about the issue you're talking about, I don't know if you noticed, but Metropole Orkest's YouTube channel didn't only post the "Do Your Thing" performance, they've also posted "Hey You", "Where's Your Head At", "When The Lights Go Down", "Romeo", "Red Alert", "Raindrops"....
- I must say that the "Do Your Thing" and all of the performances are super amazing and perfection, but sadly the song itself is not noticeable enough for us to single it out specifically like that. "Do Your Thing" is not a promotional single from the album (but "Raindrops" is), it doesn't have the most-viewed out of all the performances on YouTube ("Samba Music" is), and it doesn't have a promotional music video ("Hey You" has one).
- So there ya go, I hope you understand, and I'm truly sorry for not leaving an edit summary and making you baffled. :( Beyoncetan (talk) 22:23, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
- Many thanks for such a clear explanation. I see. Well, that's certainly a strict interpretation of policy. I'm not really bothered what clip was used, I just thought an article on an album would benefit 100% from having an example of the music! Especially if the artists themselves have posted it on YouTube. I don't think any one of the album tracks would necessarily be seen by all parties as "noticeable". I know "External links" gives advice to "Avoid undue weight on particular points of view", but I'm very sorry there's no link to the actual music - in fact, to an excellent performance of the music. You don't think you're being just a bit overly-strict? Martinevans123 (talk) 11:19, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Martinevans123: I don't think I'm overly strict though - in fact I'm just a newbie at this Wikipedia - it's just that I didn't really find a clear reason to put the video link there. But it's Wikipedia, and I think you have a perfect point for yourself, so please feel free to re-add the link to the article! And on a second thought, I think we should add the link so that it can represent something for the live concert! Sorry for making you feel mad. :( I'm just here following the rules and stuff, maybe I should be more open-minded next time. Beyoncetan (talk) 21:33, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
- An excellent reason to re-add. I will do so immediately. I you find a better one, feel free to swap. Regards. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:39, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

Creep
[edit]On Wikipedia help page, you requested some assistance with the article Creep.
I have taken a look at it and done a bit of editing - mainly minor changes - that I think makes it more readable and grammatically correct.
There is one thing that really need clarification:
- "It is one of CrazySexyCool's tracks for which Lopes' was absent due to her being in rehab for first-degree arson to boyfriend American football player Andre Rison in June 1994."
Arson refers to the making of a deliberate fire. It is usually used in association with fires caused to property or land. It is not clear how she could have caused first degree arson to her boyfried. In addition, do people normally go to rehab for arson? I think that people go to rehab for drug or alcohol abuse. Perhaps she engaged in arson which caused her boyfried to sustain first degree burns. Or, perhaps she was charged with arson in the first degree. If she had been charged with arson, she was most likely on remand. Was she on remand or in rehab? There's a difference. As it currently stands this passage is not at all clear. I think you need to check this out in the sources, and clarify the meaning.
- Was the boyfriend a victim of arson or burns?
- Were his injuries described as first-degree burns?
- What role did the girl play in causing the burns? Did she deliberately start a fire which caused his injuries?
- Was she charged with arson in the first-degree? (or does the first-degree description relate to the burns sustained by the boyfried?)
- If she was charged, was she on remand at the time of the recording?
- If she was not on remand, where does the rehab come into the story?
Apart from that, I think that it is well researched and mostly well-written
BronHiggs (talk) 07:00, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
Hi again, I have had a go at fixing that passage about rehab and arson. I had to consult the sources to get an idea about what actually occured. I think that the revised phrasing captures the series of events better. I hope that it is acceptable to you. Regards BronHiggs (talk) 08:14, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
- I made some improvements in the lead and first section. I was amazed the person who wrote this needed any help, but there were several places where I felt minor fixes were worthwhile.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 20:47, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Your edits to TLC articles
[edit]Hi, I've just seen that you've redirected some TLC articles and nominated a couple for speedy deletion. To look at them in turn:
- What's your evidence that Return of TLC tour is "not a real tour"? A quick Google search implies that TLC did indeed do such a tour.
- Japan and Malaysia tour may be a very short tour, but that doesn't make it a candidate for speedy deletion. Please familiarise yourself with WP:CSD.
- Article with substantial content, such as We Love TLC, shouldn't be just changed to redirects without consensus. If you think that this album isn't worthy of its own article, your best bet is to go through WP:AfD. Changing an article to a redirect is a possible outcome of AfD discussions.
- Template:TLC is a template. By replacing the content with a speedy deletion template, you have caused every page that includes the template to display the deletion template instead of the real template content. If you need to add a maintenance notice to a template, please make sure it is enclosed in <noinclude>...</noinclude> tags to prevent this.
Also, please do not blank pages when you nominate them for deletion. The content should remain in the article until it is (possibly) actually deleted (unless you are nominating it as a copyright violation or attack page). — Smjg (talk) 17:21, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
Music categories
[edit]Whenever you create a new category such as Category:Deee-Lite, it's really important that you categorise it, otherwise humans can't find it and it's hidden from automatic maintenance processes. And just as a general comment, that one is a bit of a marginal category to create, Wikipedia generally doesn't bother with dedicated artist categories (as opposed to album/song categories) until there's a bit more material to collect. Certainly I wouldn't bother if there was just an album and/or song category, it generally kicks in once there is a separate discography and tour articles. You did a good job getting Creep (TLC song) nominated as a good article, but can you explain why you changed in the infobox, the recording date/period from "1993-March 1994" to "Late 1993-September 1994"? That is anachronistic, because many sources highlight that the song was fully recorded at least 3-6 months prior to that. Not mention, Dallas Austin essentially once commented in that he "sat on Creep" for 6 months, prior to it being recorded, which highlights it was written sometime in 1993 (1st video was shot in June 1994). Simply put, there is no way a song, which had video shoots in June 1994, July 1994, and August 1994, was still being recorded until September 1994, since it in no way differs from the final track released that fall.
Creep choreography was allegedly being rehearsed as early as May 1994, ahead of its original June 1994 video shoot (shot before Lopez incident on 6/9/1994). While I cannot confirm the exact date for this single, usually record labels decide on a lead single, a few weeks before rehearsals begin for a music video. As you can see, Creep had already been recorded by no later than April 1994. TLC started working on this record sometime in mid-1993, after leaving Pebbitone management. By the beginning of 1994 it was definitely far along. I have explained this to you, because you introduced vague and generalized timeline into the article, that contradicted actual existing evidence.--Carmaker1 (talk) 07:32, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Carmaker1: "Late 1993-September 1994" was the time period for the album's recording. I replaced it because I couldn't find sources that reliably identify the song's time period.
- Many sources highlight that the song was fully recorded at least 3-6 months prior to that. (?)
- Dallas Austin essentially once commented in that he "sat on Creep" for 6 months. (I only found this on Songfacts, and Songfacts is not a reliable source.)
- Creep choreography was allegedly being rehearsed as early as May 1994. (?)
If you can find the sources to back these up, please help. Beyoncetan (talk) 08:26, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
- [[Source 1]] Other than that, any sources on May 1994 are what I call, "lost". Dallas Austin's commentary in Billboard, was amongst those sources. Secondarily, the fact that the original video in June 1994 was already being shot on location in Atlanta, GA with member Lisa Lopes (who was arrested on June 9th), was done before the 6/9 incident. At least 6 months prior to that points to December 1993. Google News Archives used to exist, sadly not anymore. It was very helpful. Years ago (circa 2009-10), I read in an article from an Atlanta-based newspaper circa April or May 1994, about TLC and Dallas Austin projects. It had mentioned at the time, they had settled on a lead single produced by the latter and were in the middle of rehearsals, but withheld the title of the incoming single then-scheduled for July 1994 release. I have tried to find that source, but it is lost at this point due to possibly dead links. I figure you couldn't find it either? Honestly, the song realistically could not have been recorded after June 1994 (except remixes). I understand the point of WP:OR, but it is very unlikely the group would been able to film a 6-figure budget video, within just 1 week of recording the song (mixing and mastering lead times) and no scheduled time to rehearse nor discuss with their label. Lopes was also somewhat incarcerated after the June 9th incident, that her video appearance (Atlanta version) was only possible in preceding the 6/9 event . Sadly, finding all these sources to support this in the present, is frustratingly difficult (as you already know). Just exchanging knowledge with you, as I regret not saving/archiving those links, but feel September 1994 is way past the earliest (remaining) evidence of this song's existence (June 1994 video shoot). Most lead singles are recorded no less than 4-6 weeks before release, to account for promotion and scheduling. Lisa Lopes: Life of A Supernova book highlighted that TLC spent "much of 1993" recording their sophomore album. "Late 1993" in Crazy Sexy Cool article needs to be changed, as someone else mysteriously added the "Late" portion and I have never pinpointed when work started on it in 1993. All I know is finding out when Perri Reid was dismissed in 1993, will provide better information on a more concrete timeline, as she fired before it began. Very little reporting on the group during that year and much of early 1994.--Carmaker1 (talk) 10:21, 16 December 2017 (UTC)

Beyoncetan (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I've accidentally logged in with one of my old usernames, Starrystar542, which has been blocked since Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Beyoncetan. This username, Beyoncetan, however, has not been blocked and my IP is currently preventing me from logging in. Please help!
Decline reason:
This is a good lesson about how serious we are about your violations of WP:SOCK. The block will automatically expire in 24 hours. Please do not do this again. Yamla (talk) 18:15, 22 December 2018 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
