Hello :-)

[edit]

Good evening Fayssal, I am new to Wikipedia, and I submitted a few links in a few articles. I thought it didn't work in that article related to Morocco, but then I just noticed that it was removed by you. I was just wondering if it's much asking to leave the links there as they are related to the Moroccan culture, and could be useful to people who didn't check the Moroccan Arabic article. That was a peacfull message, huh? :) Thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by BerberGirl (talkcontribs) 19:52, 19 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Hi BerberGirl :) I appreciate your contributions and they are welcomed. The thing is we have a few policies, guidelines and manual of styles. One of them is Wikipedia:External links. Links normally to be avoided include sites that are only indirectly related to the article's subject. The problem with external links is not limited to Morocco's article but it is common in Wikipedia. As i put on the edit summary, the link is suitable for Moroccan Arabic. If we allow such a link in the main Morocco article that we'd be having thousands of links and that is not the aim of wikipedia.
The other problem with the link you provided is that it is a personal website. It is a blog and blogs are to be avoided in general unless we have no other sites which can provide such informations.
Anyway, you can keep a link (preferably not 2 or all of them) in Morocco's main article but i cannot assure you that they would remain there as maybe someone would delete them. Please feel free to approach me anytime you need help. Regards -- FayssalF - Wiki me up ® 20:07, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
