You can discuss why you think the article should not be deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dave Long (actor). In the future, leave messages to other users by editing their talk page, not their main user page. --PseudoChron (talk) 12:17, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

[edit]
Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, BenderRobot! I am Gordonrox24 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Thanks Gordon! Actually i've been on Wikipedia for quite some time now. But I never really got around to editing much until recently.

Non-free files in your user space

[edit]

Hey there BenderRobot, thank you for your contributions. I am a bot, alerting you that non-free files are not allowed in user or talk space. I removed some files I found on User:BenderRobot. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

  • See a log of files removed today here.

Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 05:08, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DASHBot Shutoff

[edit]

Hey there BenderRobot, I saw you turned DASHBot's Image-removal function off (the function that left you the above message). Can you describe to me the error that the bot made? Tim1357 talk 22:22, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tim, it mistakenly deleted an image of the Leave it to Beaver title screen that was already on the article's Wikipedia page for years. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BenderRobot (talkcontribs)
How did the bot act in error? The bot removed File:Beavertitlea.jpg (which is marked as a non-free) from User:BenderRobot. I encourage you to read Wikipedia:NFCC#9, which states:

Non-free content is allowed only in articles.

It seems that the bot acted correctly in this case. For that reason, I have turned the bot back on. Tim1357 talk 02:05, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Penis penis bo benis banana fanna fo fenis fe fi mo menis PENIS, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Regarding your current userpage

[edit]

Greetings. I just noticed your userpage, and I am concerned that the current version (which appears to be a modified copy of the page User:Bongwarrior) may not be acceptable because it could be viewed as an attack against a certain user. In addition, I noticed that your userpage is currently included in the "Wikipedia administrators" category even though you are not currently an administrator. If you believe that your userpage does not violate our guidelines, please leave a note here and we can discuss it. As an alternative, you can simply edit the page so that it meets Wikipedia's userpage guidelines. Thank you. --SoCalSuperEagle (talk) 23:16, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are no opinions on the page whatsoever. Only facts that are wrong.

Okay, let me put it this way: You might not realize it, but your userpage currently makes a false claim that you have administrator privileges on Wikipedia. In general, your userpage shouldn't imply that your account has privileges that it doesn't currently have. Furthermore, if a certain administrator were to see your current userpage, I don't think he would find it amusing. Considering the fact that your userpage looks very similar to his in overall structure, as well as the fact that your userpage contains statements that appear to be disparaging in nature, there is a good possibility that other users may interpret your present userpage as being an attack against the administrator in question. --SoCalSuperEagle (talk) 03:31, 10 June 2010 (UTC) (Comment last edited at 04:06, 10 June 2010 (UTC))[reply]
It appears that someone else went ahead and resolved this issue by blanking your userpage. To avoid future userpage problems, I would suggest that you read Wikipedia:User pages before you create a new userpage. --SoCalSuperEagle (talk) 07:23, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I'll move it to the Encyclopedia Dramatica instead.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Jews. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Makeemlighter (talk) 22:11, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at user talk:Bongwarrior. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you.  7  23:08, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, BenderRobot, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it it gives the impression that you are a bot or robot. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you.   — Jeff G. ツ 00:34, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jeff, one can easily check by going to my profile page and they'll see I am not a bot. BenderRobot (talk) 00:48, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The image you posted on Sulfuric acid

[edit]

Hi Bender, that image you posted isn't sulfuric acid. It's an alkaline battery and that crust is actually potassium hydroxide. GB86 02:57, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, BenderRobot, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. -- Cirt (talk) 14:24, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
