Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... although i am a member of this band, i think it is perfectly ok that it'll have an article in wikipedia. there is no promotional material. just info about the band and their activity, music, albums, music etc. this bands musicians are highly known in Israel and this article is not about promoting the band. people are looking to know more about Tigris band and wikipedia is a great way for them to get this info. --Benaylon (talk) 21:11, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  1. No, I'm afraid that Wikipedia isn't "a great way for them to get this info", because Wikipedia is not a medium for publicising bands, companies, organisations, or anything else.
  2. A page of text such as "Crazy grooves, special combination of instruments, addictive melodies, and the virtuosity of each band member - puts Tigris in a new territory on the original African music map that covers the world" is "not about promoting the band"? Then I wonder what you had written if you had intended to promote the band.
  3. A large part of the content of the page was a direct copy from a page on another web site. In the absence of proof that the content was licensed for free-reuse in accordance with Wikipedia's terms of use, this was contrary to Wikipedia's copyright policy.
