Blocking from Wiki due to multiple users on the same IP

[edit]

Hello, I was blocked for a day on wikipedia. The reason was stated that I share the same IP address with another account.I would want to find a long-lasting solution to this issue. I happen to be in a building with a shared network and a lot of people use the common internet that is provided. Evidently many of them would be using Wiki from the same IP and I would be facing the same problem in regular intervals. I would request someone to help me and give me a permanent solution to this blockage. I have uploaded this previously too but have not heard a response from anyone. Bella.black678 (talk) (UTC)

Hi Bella.black678. The reason nobody has answered your question is probably because there are not many editors watching your user talk page. I am not an administrator so I am unable to answer your question myself, but might be able to get assistance by re-asking your question at the Wikipedia Teahouse, the Wikipedia Help Desk, the Administrators Noticeboard, or by using Template:Admin help on this talk page. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:24, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for being kind and helping me here. much appreciated help :)

No problem. However, you shouldn't try to engage in multiple discussions on multiple noticeboards about this particular topic because such a shotgun approach usually doesn't not get the result you want any quicker than posting in one place and could also be seen as forum shopping. Best to pick one noticeboard, etc. and see what happens there. Also, please remember to sign your talk page posts and use proper indentation. It's not such a big deal here on your user talk page, but on community-wide noticeboards or other user talk pages where many editors might be posting about a variety of things, it does make a difference. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:03, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
