[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Betzefer.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- ˉˉanetode╦╩ 17:14, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This was a non-notable band as per the criteria set out in WP:Music. Perhaps Myspace would be a better location for this information. (aeropagitica) 18:38, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does that band meet this criteria:
Has been featured in multiple non-trivial published works in reliable and reputable media (excludes things like school newspapers (although university newspapers are usually fine), personal blogs, etc.)

By these two newspaper articles about them:

  • Mountain Express: [[1]]
  • Asheville Citizen-Times: [[2]]
I can cite several other articles from those two newspapers if needed.
Also, a note: They released release the awesome on their own record label, Rage Records
And this part:
Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or the local scene of a city (or both, as in British hip hop); note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability.
I would say Dawn of the Dude is representative of the young music scene around Asheville, NC.
When I went to school there last year, Dawn of the Dude had the concerts everyone talked about.
Thank You, Bob Adams — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beinghappysucks (talkcontribs)

Firstly, sign your comments on Talk pages with four tildes, ~~~~, this makes it easier to respond to comments. Secondly, the band is unsigned and the article was deleted for the following criteria on WP:Music:

  1. Has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one large or medium-sized country.
  2. Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one large or medium-sized country,[1] reported in notable and verifiable sources.[2]
  3. Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable).

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Dawn of the Dude.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dawn of the Dude.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 20:00, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:New Slave nation.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:New Slave nation.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:02, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:BetzeferDOWNLOW.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BetzeferDOWNLOW.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Fair use rationale for Image:Betzeferhate.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Betzeferhate.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 03:31, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
