POST 26 JUNE 2009

Thank you

[edit]

In case you do look in here, I wanted to thank you for the note you left, and also for the discussions we've had. I've always enjoyed communicating with you and I value your opinion, even when we've disagreed. We've had some good disagreements, but I think mostly we've had similar opinions. I hope you return and I wish you only the best. Rossrs (talk) 14:53, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WikiBirthday

[edit]

I saw from here that it's been exactly four years since you joined the project. Happy WikiBirthday!

It looks like I was just a day too late, so maybe you won't see this, but in any case best wishes. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 03:57, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kirkland sailor sculpture

[edit]

[[:File:Sailor sculpture (Kirkland, Washington) crop.jpg|40px|thumb|

An editor has nominated the above file for discussion of its purpose and/or potential deletion. You are welcome to participate in the discussion and help reach a consensus.]] Hi, I was wondering why you decided to crop the image of the sailor sculpture? I'm sure readers know to click on the image for details, so as a thumbnail it doesn't particularly take up much room the article. Further, to crop the photograph for a slight increase in the thumbnail's detail (which I'm assuming was your rationale) seems pretty redundant since users interested in the image will probably click on it regardless. I also think the field of view in the original made for a more interesting picture. Since any versions of this image not used in an article must be deleted as per fair use, I would argue for leaving the uncropped image since it saves the image's full value. In any case, as a modification of the original you need to also credit the principal author Mad Max (talk · contribs) in the description, as per the the GNU text.--Eightofnine (talk) 03:37, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Historical inaccuracies in the film Zulu. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Historical inaccuracies in the film Zulu. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:23, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to see you go...

[edit]

...and I do hope you'll return, it always troubles me when we lose good editors. We haven't conversed much but I was aware of some of what led to your feeling alienated and dissatisfied. I hope you'll just see things for what they are, petty bickering. And why let it get to you? Just ignore the drama and try to focus on the things that got you hooked on Wikipedia in the first place. Anyways, I've added you to the list of missing or retired Wikipedians, hope you don't mind. If you don't want to be listed or choose to return just go ahead and remove yourself from the list. -- œ 22:07, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to bid you a regretful farewell. Perhaps you can help with Portal:Current events/Science and technology? Not glamorous by any means, but less drama. - RoyBoy 04:53, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ed! Thanks for the help. I read what you told me:

Non-controversial edits

---And it is all quotes by 3rd party publications. Not a word by me. According to above I meet the standard. If there is any 3rd party published quote you object to please let me know. As is it has been pretty straight forward and simple. There is no published bad side because there is none. Please let me know what is objectionable? Otherwise I can't vandalize the page of published quotes just because their favorable. I have over 500 articles about me to quote. That's why I'm considered notable. Thanks in advance.--Rickbrown9 (talk) 14:03, 11 October 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rickbrown9 (talkcontribs)
