Issuing level 1 warning about removing AfD template from articles before the discussion is complete. (Peachy 2.0 (alpha 8))

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Steve Swetoha. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 22:46, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New basketball articles

[edit]

There is a discussion regarding your creation of basketball articles at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_National_Basketball_Association#User:Basketballfan12_-_creating_non-notable_NBA_bio_stubs. Given that a number of your creations have been nominated at WP:AfD, may I suggest that you take a break from creating articles until those AfDs are resolved. In the interim, you could create articles in the Draft namespace, if needed. Perhaps you'll be vindicated after the outcome of those AfDs, but it seems the least disruptive for all parties involved if you take a break for the time being. Let me know if you have an alternative ideas. Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 02:53, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Topic ban

[edit]

Basketballfan12, following this discussion you are indefinitely topic banned by the community from creating sports-related mainspace articles and templates, and from moving articles and templates to mainspace. You may use Wikipedia:Drafts to create articles. You may appeal providing you can show you understand notability; the creation of drafts for non-notable people would count against that appeal. Noel Gillespie

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Wikipedia:Noel Gillespie a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. [edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Dean Cooper, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Aquinas College. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:10, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Danny Rubin (basketball)

[edit]

The article Danny Rubin (basketball) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject fails to meet the notability requirement set for at WP:BASKETBALL

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
